Looking to main one of these 2. I love their different specs as well as their healing, but which one would bring more to my team mates both pvp and pve.
Druid
Shaman
Druid....
Resto Shamans sucks in PVE (M+ and Raids) at least for now...

Druid atm, shamans are pretty meh if I'm honest. (currently that is)
Shamans bring more than druid for party...dont look into numbers they are changing like flappy bird....
I can't sat anything about the shamy cuz i didnt play it yet, so i will tell you my experience on the druid cuz its my main in bfa.
Resto druid is kinda op in pvp, since most of his heals are instant so less interrupts. not to mention bear form, survival extinct, invis, and many other abilities the druid have.
As for pve its one of the best healers class, there are 6 healers and druid is one of the best. In legion, it was ranked top 1 healer ( thats what i read wasnt playing druid back then), and in bfa its 2/3 ranking right now (the last time checked dunno if ranking changed). Also any raid will always welcome a druid.
Not to mention playing a druid is a fun class, ability to switch between tank, rdps and mdps, give you variety of option( for example if your are geared and want to boost a friend you can go tank and run him instant queue dung, thats what i do to help my friend and guild members, also you can run low m+ dung with a resto gear).
As i said from the start i didnt played shamy before but this is my experience on druid.
Good luck mate, and choose the class that makes you have fun more.

Druid brings a res, far more valuable than anything a shaman brings. Shaman has SLT, thats its niche.

Shaman.
by kazillion miles
in dungeons: 12 sec cd kcik (shortest in game), good Healing, nice cds, stuns and slows for control. No mana issue if played correctly. Can hex. Good assisst dps, can assisst cleave or prio target.
You have bloodlust.
In pvp: godlike healer atm, top healer in legion too. Can purge offensively (like protection from palading). Way more assist Tools. Can amplify damage.
I'd say resto druid is better for tranq in raid, cyclone in pvp (hard to use properly, at first if you're startign this game, you might clone a focused target resulting in your friend wasting their burst etc..).
Just go shaman, plus the class is super cool.
Incredibly dependent on the content you want to do.
In pvp shaman are incredible, best healer by far. In mythic+ while they bring utility I find it far easier to actually heal on my druid and that gap only increases the higher the keys. In raids its very situational, there are some bosses where my shammy does just fine (never top hps, but that's not important) the utility is great for those situations (zul is one such instance), however, outside of those situations, it's awful. A lot of the toolkit is based on requiring people to be stacked, on bosses like mythrax or g'huun with everyone spread, all that is lost and I personally find it quite boring and at times frustrating, much more fun on the druid which can handle all situations decently.
That said and I know I sound pretty negative about shaman, they are by no means unviable and I absolutely adore them, all content is doable, you'll just have an easier time on a druid in pve.

Shaman bring totems, spirit link, strongest aoe for grouped ppl, spellkick, hex, purge
Druid brings bress and tranq. Thats it. For pvp cyclone which is sometimes tricky to not get kicked or swapped.
And looking only into raw numbers is just stupid cuz whats op can suck tomorrow and vice versa. Play what you enjoy not whats best by numbers currently...unless you push world first or 2800rating it doesnt matter if you know your class...when finally ppl start understandinf this....

Totally agree that shaman have more utility, I play one myself. The problem is that a fair amount if not all of that is incredibly situational. Also agree numbers don't matter, never have. Shaman havent been top hps in a very long time, that doesn't mean that they haven't been strong though. The legion iteration was far more versatile, I personally don't feel as useful and find it far more difficult in a lot of situations, high mythic+ is a big one, having no decent tank heal/shield or any sort of quick cast single target "oh s%#&" heal can make life very difficult for example and it's something that all other healers (including druids) do have.
We excel in stacked up group content, there's not an awful lot of that in legion, both in dungeons and raids, our utility can only help us so far.
Numbers have very little intrest to me whats so ever. I was jusy intrested in what has the most tricks and tools at their disposal at end game.
What is better at solo? I guess shaman might edge out becauae of earth ele?

I guess its same. You have ele/enha or balance/feral. You will never be killing mobs in solo anyway as fast like pure dps focused player cuz its just OS (unless you have dps trinkets etc ofc)
Regarding utility shaman brings more imo. Also i suggest play what fit you the most, cuz nothing is worse than playing aome class you dont like...play what you have fun on and you will get good aswell and be better performing than on something that is boring you.

Shammy, the dps on resto is decent actually (the base spells actually hit harder than the elemental versions :p). Earth ele is also awesome, if you're willing to switch to elemental for them, the group quests are all solo able with him :)
As for the tricks and tools, I would say shaman does have more, but as I said they're situational, so it's a tradeoff between being great in certain situations and possibly struggling with others versus being decent in all situations but with less "special" utility. It's really personal preference and as long as you're not trying to do higher level content, shouldn't struggle too much on the shaman (definitely more fun too imo).
I'm levelling a Dark Iron Shammy now, so I don't know how it heals at max level (I'm enjoying low level healing, but that's not the same thing). I don't do much healing on my druid either, but the dungeons that I run and the LFR runs I do I don't mind healing on my druid, since I can spend a lot of time moving (HoTS for the win!). But, it's situational and all depends on your preferences.
From what i've read on here and how I feel playing them both, i'm going to side with a shaman.
I will miss stealth and boomkin form for sure, but something about the playstyle of shaman keeps bringing me back.
Ty for you help peeps :D

Ah, you have been bit by the shaman bug... Just a warning, once you're hooked, that's it. :) Been trying to convince myself to play anything else this expac (since for high level shaman aren't ideal) and have been seriously struggling to let go. Promise you will love it (possibly to your detriment lol).
Priest...they're always good
I have played resto shamans or druids as mains for the past three expansions.
Here is my take:
PvP, you need to differentiate between arena and (r)bgs.
Arena, resto shaman is either top notch (as they are at the moment), or OK. Rarely, will they be the worst.
Conversely, they will almost always be the worst (r)BG healer, and less welcome in general.
Rdruids can be top in arena, but atm they are not. Still OK. They are almost always near top in (r)bgs--behind MW monks.
If PvP for you is mostly arena, I would lean towards shaman, otherwise druid.
Pve, are we talking about mythic plus dungeons or raids?
The numbers don't lie, in sheer volume resto druids are the top healer in m+, at every level, esp. at higher keys. Shamans are at the bottom.
Raid, I assume both are valuable, but I can't really say, as I don't raid.
Numbers are always tweaked, and vary, so as always I recommend to play what you like.
Nature healer for life!
