Shaman Wishlist TWW

My wish list for TWW -

  • New Ascendance character model - Current one is old, lacks any spectacle and thematically just feels off.
  • Raid buff - Shaman was the OG bloodlust now they ironically have nothing. Give us some kind of Mastery buff totem or a nerfed version of Skyfury totem for PvE. Or windfury baseline but with some added caster benefit. Something, anything!

  • Old chain heal visual glyph - Water theme is cool but literally everything is water. The option for some diversity would be nice with the old yellow/gold animation.

  • Less bloat - Remove/rework both Downpour & Wellspring. Excessive amount of healing spells.

Long shot -

Ghost Hawk - Druids will hate it but thematically an instant cast ghost hawk form would be so nice for Shaman.

Lightning eyes - Shaman version of DK eyes.

Tank spec / more earth themed abilities - Never going to happen but one can dream, right?

To be honest, I would keep Wellspring and buff it.

Reason being that RShaman lacks a reliable AoE heal. We only have Chain Heal, and because its target caped, Blizz has historically had a really hard time balancing it.

Simply put : A 5 target cap makes it really good in M+, but really bad in Raids. To make it good in Raids, they buff it. But that makes it OP in M+. So they nerf it. And this cycle exists since Vanilla wow basically.

Wellspring gives an uncapped target AoE heal which would be primarely used in raids.

And I especially liked the shield it put on people if overhealed. Except, I disliked the fact that you had to cast Unleash Life (I dislike Unleash Life in general).

(A) So Wellspring I would simply leave it, and incorporate the over-heal shield to it by default.

(B) I would delete downpour. Simple as that. Downpour is literally Overflowing Shores mechanically speaking. I would simply keep Overflowing Shores, buff it by a bit (its 44% SP right now) and DONE.

We can even get into more details there if needed. But shaman also needs some love in other aspects.

Nah… What I would like to see from RShaman is for it to go back to its roots of DPS weaving, but better:

I want to see:

Healing Spells reduce cast time of DPS spells and vice-versa. So every 2/3 Chain Heals/Surges you get an instant cast Chain Lightning/Bolt. Every 2/3 casts of Chain Lightning/Bolt you get an instant cast Chain Heal/Surge.

This is my wishlist:

  • Delete Primordial Wave (hate it). If it HAS to stay, atleast remove Continuous Waves and Improved Primordial Wave. Just merge them to PW and leave it as 1 talent. We get 3 more talent points that can be spent on other cooler stuff.

  • Delete Unleash Life (looking at you Ancestor Hero Talents). I hate it. I dont like it.

  • Out talent tree is too top-heavy. Healing Stream Totem and Healing Wave should be baseline. Deluge should be 1 point. There should be more talents in the middle. Especially passive talents.

  • Tidal Waves Rework : Flash Flood is kind of useful and feels good to play, if we had 2 talent points to spare. It should be incorporated into Tidal Waves (ALL healing spells cast time). And Tidal Waves should be : stronger heals for Healing Wave, Crit for Healing Surge, and reduced cast time for everything.

  • Add more interesting DPS talents. Especially weaving ones like the ones I mentioned before. Get rind of Stormkeeper.

  • Lava Surge is interesting, but should incorporate Master of the Elements to add to the “dps weaving” Mithos of the shaman.

  • Earth Shield should have infinite charges. Its DR should be increased to 12% and its application should be off the GCD, but increase its mana cost (to prevent people just macroing the shield, so you go OOM really fast if you do). Maybe… just maybe… have a talent to allow 3 shields at once, or atleast, allow the 2 shields to be 2 party members (not always you and someone else). The idea is to swap Earth Shield targets as needed.

  • Get rid of Ancestral Vigor. Simply gives us “fortitude” and thats it. Easier to manage, and it wont feel bad to have a “nerfed out version” of something Priests already have.

  • Ancestral Protection Totem : Just make it a 3 min cool-down already. And to be fair, just remove the “reeincarnates someone”. Either give us a BR, or not. Probably not. But having a +10% HP totem would put us in line with other healers.

  • Rework Living Stream Totem. Instead of ticking 10% more each time. Make it the opposite. To start ticking strong, and decrease by 10% each time. That way you actually have a meaningful choice between CB and HS totems. One is AoE burst. The other is ST burst.

  • Speaking of Totems, Make Healing Stream Totem a choice node between HST and Healing Tide Totem (which would also have 30s CD and 2 charges, and target limitation + toned down healing). This would give a choice between ST totem, and AoE totem. And CB and LST choice talent is just an improved version of that choice.

  • I would love to see a mechanic that reduces the CD of totems. Maybe not ALL, but at-least some.

  • I would love for haste to play a better roll in shaman specs. I would like Haste to reduce the CD and cast time of Riptide and Healing Rain. I would love that.

  • Uncap Acid Rain. Im SICK of a 6 target cap. Make it uncapped with the “reduced damage beyond 8 targets” thing.

IMPORTANT:

  • Add more passive talents to fill the gaps. In my suggestions, we would have like 10 extra talents there and could literally take every single talent. That is obviously too OP. So add extra passive talents that buff either CH, or HS, ect… to promote AoE, ST, or other builds. And especially because should my suggestions be taken seriously, with current tunning we would be OP as crazy. So all baseline abilities need to be tuned down. And then, we only tune back up choice passive abilities. So that not everything heals like a truck, you have to choose what does and what dosent.

And that is about it.

my wish list would be removing ice strike and primordial wave, but aint gonna happen either.

stop transforming enhance into ele 2.0
our melee attacks are already doing nothing beside a fully stacked mastrru stackex lava lash with hot hand procced…

This might bury us forever. Look at what happened to augmentation evoker.
Either way I think it’s clear devs don’t want shaman as a support. They didn’t remove 90% of our totems for nothing.

I’m still hoping they remove Primordial Wave and push the playstyle in a direction that’s more fun to play
