i never said lifetap isn’t important.
warlock spells are insanely expensive in mana cost, hence the lifetap mechanic.
warlock spells are expensive and hit hard.
without life tap warlocks would be oom in a couple of casts and no way to regain mana.
that is outside of runes which are cheap.
if you look at it from a vanilla perspective, where runes do not exist, warlocks absolutely need lifetap or they will be sitting ducks after applying 3 dots and casting 4 shadowbolts.

the difference between boomie and warlock in vanilla is that one functions (because of lifetap) and the other doesn’t.
boomie is an example of a class that doesn’t function and needs some mana baseline (not as a rune).
…Been a long time since I’ve seen somebody on this board accept that they were wrong. Kudos.
