Shaman is by far the second strongest spec in PvP, as a horde and alliance player I have no problems with Shaman being great, they’re a cool as hell class. But currently the strength of Shamans in PvP especially in battlegrounds during group fights mean the horde has a consistant and signifigant advantage. Let alone off heals and their insanely stable mana at 40.
Shamans have insane utlity, damage and offheals. Oh and 30% stam and 10% damage reduction on a rune which doesn’t bring with it any loss to damage? Decoy totem gives freedom and killing the totem doesn’t even end the freedom, who thought this was a good idea? Both Ele and shaman hit insanely hard and consistantly, both being top PVE specs. 1-2 decoy totems + grounding totem in team fights bring huge amounts of team survivability. Decoy totem is awful and should be removed, but it won’t now so that’s that. Shaman damage is overtuned, but i doubt they’ll undo any of the buffs they just recieved and before that they were great anyway. I don’t really even want shamans to be nerfed, but jesus christ please make it so Paladins can bring a similar level of consistant utlity and damage rather than gigantic cooldowns, being a wheelchair and nothing else.
Now all this would be fine, if paladins were also OP in PvP. But they’re atrocious. Wins on horde are far far simpler than alliance now. I’d love to know how much statistics have flipped to horde consistantly winning far more this phase (granted P1 wins will be skewed by whoever was running the most premades)
On P1, with WoE on you’d be half or mostly dead if someone engaged from range. Even if you were running at them with Ghost Wolf. Playing shaman on P1 was quite painful. Not a terrible class but not astounding either. It was a hidden gem in some aspects but with limitations.
Now it’s very similar, even though we can be a bit tankier and have some tools (Grounding and Decoy Totem in particular) to survive more.
I’m surprised people are asking for nerfs. For melee shamans, all you have to do is kite and they won’t be able to do anything. The mistake is letting them reach you. Shocks only have a 20y range. Even if the shaman has good consumables and is prepared, kiting is a death sentence that kind of forces you to Ghost Wolf away from the attacker.
If they have WF on the main hand, then they will die even faster.
For elemental shamans, just melee/spell pushback them and they won’t be able to do anything at all.
The only thing we didn’t need is the 20% AP from Lone Wolf for many reasons. The most relevant one being that a utility ability should not have throughput of any kind and feet runes are all utility, so that change broke the balance there. But this is more of a PvE thing. Any shaman worth their salt in PvP will run Decoy.
no need for elaborate answers man, all the alliance crybabies on forums r 0 skill degunerates with >10% brain, the skilled players know how to play against shamans, especially ele who can be beat by all classes 1v1
I think if the people complaining would try a single BG as shaman without WoE and decoy they’d be quiet. Hell, they’d probably be quiet if they tried a BG with everything as it is if they face some competent players.

Hunters can kite, which class can also kite? Rogues? But that makes them having to be in melee range?
So basically, 8 out of 9 classes have to stay away from a Shaman, is that what you are saying here?
That wouldn’t be a problem, if it weren’t for decoy totem, and that only one class is able to purge/silence that buff.

Mage, druid, SP. In fact hunters are probably the easiest of the ranged classes to catch up with. Unless a druid or SP refuses to press anything but damaging abilities you are not going to catch up to them if they already have some range on you. It won’t happen.
Rogues don’t need to kite, they have stuns, as I’m sure you are aware of.
another 0 skill alliance crybaby that wants his rogue to be able to kill every other class in a stunlock, cmon blizz give rogues what they want, 1 shot everything with no counterplay… then the game becomes balanced. btw i have a rogue and from lvl 34 ive been defeating lvl40 hunters/mages/druids/priests/rogues…
Druids can not kite, they can root.
SP? Sure, but that has them sacrificing damage.
Mages, you’re right, but they’d have to be frost for it to work.
However, it’s still comical how Shamans are just telling people to not let them get in melee range.
I’ve seen you cry about Warriors in era, while Shamans are basically what Warriors were back then. A warrior couldn’t kill you if he didn’t touch you.
