Sharding is terrible

Why are my characters split across 3 different shards?

You get ganked 4x by the same max level duo on a lvl 74 alt, you log out as has been tradition since the dawn of time and log onto your geared to the teeth main to dispense regret on your gankers, only to find yourself in a completely different shard.

WHY? Its so bad. You killed servers which I get it, the game needs to be more connected as the playerbase dwindles, but is it that much to ask that if i’m interacting with a player, that I can return 45 seconds later on another character and continue to interact with that player without entering a group with them?

You get ganked, you log your main and gank them back, they gather more people to gank you, you do it in return > big war starts until you take over the area. This is impossible now because of this sharding nonsense yet its one of the most iconic things you can do in WoW.

Solution: give each account an ID and the ID works as a pass to get you into the shard you were already in, no matter if you log 15 different alts, all of them can run from the city and show up in the same shard. Leave the zone for 15 min? Your pass expires and it puts you into a random new shard where you are needed.

Boom, done, problem solved, don’t pay me I think big ideas for free.

True, happened to me a few times and I was even considering switching to classic wow, because the game should be an mmorpg at the first place.

And there is more of shards clown fiesta, for example gankers in elwynn, who just run into Stormwind when they are low hp and disappear, because city always has different shard from elwynn.
