So I brought this up in the discord a while back and got shot down but the more I think about it the more I think I’m right. In a situation when you are running comet storm against a boss target that cannot be frozen, you have less than 2 icicles, comet storm is off cd and you have a brain freeze proc:
You can frostbolt (51% of spellpower) > brain freeze
Or Comet Storm (7 x 40% of spellpower) > brain freeze
I know you can’t shatter all the comets but you can shatter 4.
Yea theoretically you can shatter your comet but you have to ask yourself if its worth using your BF proc to shatter you comets or save it to shatter glacial and if your wondering which would give you the most dps im pritty sure it would be glacial
Ye I know which is why I’m saying under 2 icicles. 2 or under you use the proc, over 2 you keep it for glacial. Or maybe you got a proc and have ebonbolt on cd.
Maybe your on to somthing have you tried it out on a target dummy ornot would be interesting to see if it increases dps or not in that scenario i would check it myself but atm im not near a computer
You shatter 4 of the 7 comet storms. It must be a dps increase but holding comet storm for the right situation would be a loss and using a brain freeze on at the wrong time would likely be a dps loss also.
What with your crit chance likly gonna proc on afew of those without the bf debuff, i really dont think itd be worth it but im no expert
Doesn’t change the fact you either shatter one frostbolt or 4 comets.
