So I’m trying to push keys atm on my warrior, and theres somthing i’ve ran into that im not quite sure about. Am I suposed to be able to have 100% uptime on shield block? I can usually keep it up for 3-4 shield blocks untill eventually I dont have enough charges left. I keep it up and take almsot no damage but the second it drops I get hit pretty hard then I get it up again. so in a sustaind fight whats the deal with shield block and how should I use it? I can currently keep a good uptime just not 100%
as prot u want to use 3 shield blocks in a row then last stand and 3 shield block again giving u a 51 sec facetime tanking window where u can do a ton of damage with avatar combined with demoralizing roar.
btw atm you dont need so much haste to push keys… im running 18-19 keys with ~1000 haste rating … if mobs die faster you need less defensiv or you played wrong
… and you dont need to have a 100% uptime (in whole dungeon) on block / IP because u dont take each 0,1 sec dmg
You should have like about 80% up time on shield block. Thats what I have overall in dungeons at least when I do m+ But I cant see your toon. But maybe you dont use your active mitigation correct by sound of it. Warriors should be super smooth as a tank. So if you have high uptime I guess you mess up on the other 3-4 arguably 5th active mitigation ability.
Edit: My war has 42% haste with full into the fray without procs. Without into the fray I have 24%. My shield block recharge is about 11-10 seconds. with procs around 9 or 8 I think it was.
Also be aware of what you tank because of this: Use shield reflect on abilities like what zul casts (the dot as an example or augar in atal dazar dungeon the fireballs). It does huge damage when reflected (deals damage) and reduce spell damage taken. If you time it right you can get 2 free spell blocks and reflected damage back to your trash mobs which is a time saver. So use it a lot on caster mobs. Many tanks dont use this ability or are bad or forget to use it. It does wonders.
