Get as much haste as you can, play divine purpose in class tree and bastion of light in spec tree. You can easily keep 100% uptime
If you never ever heal others or yourself. Never remove Poison or Diseases. Never give someone Protection or similar stuff. Then YES… If you ignore all of this. You can have your 100% uptime.
But then there is no reason in playing a prot paladin. Switch to blood dk. Its their job to only care for themselves.
Literally not true, dispelling has nothing to do with sotr uptime, and you’d want to spend your shining light wogs on anything if youre overcapping them to fish for divine purpose procs just for a bit more dmg. All you need is proper talents and like 14k haste to be bing chilling. The issue with wogging other people isnt that it would drop your sotr uptime, it is that it barely does any healing(700k ish) and costs 10% of your mana. You’re better off playing loh cdr talents and off healing with lohs. Also like you have not even 8k haste dude, can you stop crying about sotr uptime if you’re not even trying to get proper gear?
If you cant play a class without a specific stat. Then the class is just not well designed. Easy as that.
what he means is that sometimes you spend way too many gcds (avenger shield, cleanse, consacration, armaments x 2, WoG, etc) that don’t give HP and you will eventually be left with a very long “distance” 'till you can SotR again. The only thing we can do is focus on casting HP generators and use that SotR and just blame some DPS for not speccing into their dispels :)) or healers for not healing because you cba to use WoG. Of course the second part of this reply is meant as a joke
you should not be playing lightsmith if you want success on ppal, templar is more dmg and tankier(5% dr from empyrean hammer crits + shield from HoL overhealing) + synergy with divine purpose(HoL). Avenger’s shield is fine as long as you kick with it with punishment talent from class tree, and yes it’s mandatory talent for keys now(double mandatory with templar)
90-95% but I have 30% haste with flask included.
the best way to get more haste is to have crafted rings / necklaces, you can additionally put haste gems into them. And ofc the flask, if your budget allows it.
Also keep in mind that we, prot pallies, are quite undertuned at the moment. So if your fellow guild warrior / dk druid tanks do just fine where you’re struggling, it doesn’t necessarily mean they play better than you.
This is my Opinion.
