Shifting Power and Alter Time

Another bug I spotted today.
Shifting Power does not reduce the CD of Alter Time for Arcane
What weird sh!t, tried for fire/frost and it works fine there.
I swear this class is f%^*ing messed up.

Just for arcane?

How Blizzard? How do you do this? I know mage is supposed to be magical class, but this is the wrong kind of magic.

Probably has something to do with Arcane getting AT earlier. Something something spaghetti code.

Arcane’s Alter Time is listed as specilization spell, while for frost/fire it’s class spell if I remember correctly.

Would that really change anything? Because Shifting Power reduces the cooldown of exclusive Arcane spells.

It should reduce the CD of all mage spells as stated it it’s tooltip.
Evocation is also a spec spell. It’s definitely a bug.

Yes, mage as a whole is completely broken.

  • Shifting Power not reducing CD of Alter Time.
  • Dragon’s Breath breaking on Pyroblast Dot
  • Dragon’s Breath breaking on Flame Patch damage
  • Dragon’s Breath breaking on living bomb dot and explosion dmg
  • Dragon’s Breath breaking on meteor ground effect
(No idea why Dragon’s Breath hasn’t been hotfixed yet, its gamebreaking)
  • Triune Ward negatively affecting Blazing Soul barrier (not proccing 3 barriers, only gives you a Blazing Barrier at 65% strength, If it doesn’t proc the 3 barriers it should be at 100% effectiveness)
  • Ice barrier -> Cold snap -> Ice barrier does not apply Triune Ward barriers on the coldsnapped Ice Barrier
  • Casting a barrier spell doesn’t always grant you all 3 Triune Ward barriers.
  • Icy Veins conduit not interacting with Ice Form pvp talent
  • Frost Mage procs - bad synergy
  • Arcane Power reducing the chance to get Clearcasting

These are just some examples. The list goes on and on and on

Many people also report some conduits don’t work at all.

Arcane Barrage restoring half of mana advetised, too (1% per charge, not 2%). But that Arcane Power reducing Clearcasting chance is on next level, really - pop a damage cooldown to actually dampen its potential effect.

Like I said, the list is massive. Its so massive in fact it warrants a complete redesign of the class, which wouldn’t surprise me if that is blizzard’s actual plan. It would explain why mage rebalancing it taking such a long time, though it wouldn’t explain why simple things like Dragon’s Breath breaking on simple dots hasn’t been hotfixed yet.

Just shows how much they really care.
Being in a holiday season is not an excuse, these bugs exists since SL launch.
Take the ToTM for example, it was immediately fixed.
It wasn’t intentional but all the existing ones aren’t too.
If something affects performance positively actions are taken immediately, but if it worsens it then they forgotten.

To be fair I think those ones are intentional. Hopefully Blizz holidays are over soon and we get a balance patch followed by lots of bug fixes

In some other expansion DB was bugged in the same way, as in dots and ground effects breaking it, including Ignite. I can’t recall which expansion it was, but it was hotfixed within a few days.

I highly doubt its intentional considering pyroblast dot breaks DB as well

No I agree pyro dot is dumb. Pretty sure ground effects broke it all of bfa

Meteor didn’t, if I recall correctly.

yep 2 arcane conduits dont work if you have certain pvp talents (not affecting dungeons/raids much but still terrible for open world/ pvp)

I know, I have seen your thread, is why I wrote this.
