Should advertising your twitch stream for keys be allowed?

Hi,

With an increase of people desperately trying to become a “famous twitch streamer” they have started to use the premade group finder for advertising their stream. Saying something like “say hi in my stream chat for a chance of a boost”. Since they are directing you off WoW, like other boosting sites, do you think this is acceptable?

Personally, I don’t think anyone selling/giving away boosts or using it to push their stream, should be advertising there (including guilds, there are plenty of other sources for that) as it is for forming groups, not to advertise.

What do you think?

As far as I’m aware you aren’t allowed to do any boost type advertising in group finder??

Just report them and see what happens :woman_shrugging:

I always laugh when ppl adv their twitch channel in BGs  So… I have to leave the BG to join the channel and watch the BG instead of playing the BG? Im confused.

We have communities that bleed our eyes out with spam, a guy that has a group on LFG now is your problem?

Are you one of the boosting communities spammer/booster that probably see’s his business bleed from the free weekly ?

This is exactly what I though, I have been reporting for advertising (there is one “streamer” guilty of this that is named after a kitchen utensil that is angry). With little being done about it (maybe because of the current global crisis), should we all report or do people not mind?

I don’t use lfg but maybe blizzard don’t see it as rule breaking as no gold/money is exchanged. I don’t know really.

All you can do is keep reporting and see what happens.

God no, I personally think that boosting is a parasite to the game, but what others do is none of my concern as long as it doesn’t impact my game. The premade finder is already filled with gold sellers and boost sellers, do we really need wannabe streamers to start there too?

Exactly!
Same as i do honestly!

Obviously not, BUT since they cause a fair amount of damage to the boosters that i dislike so much i take my attention off them xD

At least, they are offering some help to people that cant otherwise make weekly and so. While they get a fair amount of recognition(that nobody cares when weekly is done)

I can perfectly accept that you dislike them, by all means.
Im just explaining you why i just dont care about them, thats all

Yea I can see that it might be the lesser of the two evils, but one particular streamer I saw a few times yesterday, had several people making groups advertising for his stream. Surely that cant be any better?

I don’t concern myself with what players do in-game because the second that you do, it takes away from your enjoyment of the game.

So do I think it’s acceptable, in terms of me doing something about it?..don’t care, let someone else concern themselves with that.

I don’t really see the harm in it. Doesn’t it just make easier for people who usually don’t get into groups to actually get into one? I’d imagine it would just be you going to their chat and saying “hi, I’m X” and then they’ll get an invite. I don’t really see this happening that often either, and even if they got a couple more people to their streams no-one would stay if the content was still bad.

Well I don’t think they should be banned! What are those 3-5 viewers going to do with their lives when their hero can’t play anymore…

Probably not, however ANY form of advertising in premade group finder is forbidden by blizz since the end of legion.

Nah… 100% agree on this
That is a really trash-y behavior indeed.
Desperate and annoying…

Just report group name for advertising

You dont see the harm? If Blizz dont enforce their own policies, could we end up like the Chinese servers? Here is a WoWhead link for how the Chinese servers are https://www.wowhead.com/news=316097/a-redditors-plea-the-overwhelming-impact-of-rmt-in-chinese-wow
