Do it. He surprised me how good a tank he is while I dps.
There’s even a relic that makes him a LOT tankier as long as you deal with the bombs targeting him due to said relics’ drawback.

I tried it for half a delve and I don’t think it’s really worth it for a Paladin. They have nerfed our Word of Glory and he takes more damage than I ever do. I’ll probably try a T8 with him as healer though.
As 100% solo player I find the level of difficulty to be good and rewards adjusted better for it. Last season felt too tedious for just being “hard” without actually being any more harder than just hitting enemy with 100x more HP than normally. I am slowly going up the delves and I have reason to log in and do my 8 delves per week for the vault rewards
THERE NEEDS TO BE A HARDMODE
or mythic mode for delves
I only tried delves on Blood DK and Guardian Druid so far, but even tier 11 felt trivial with ~625ilv. It just took a long time, because elite mobs have 40-60 mill HP, and last boss takes like 5 minutes to kill. I also had Brann as a healer, which might not have been necessary considering I only had 1 death across 6 runs.
Even comparing to previous season content, a +10 key last season was vastly more difficult than a tier 11 delve this season, and that’s comparing them with the same character and item level equipped.
I know that tanks are kinda OP for delves, but I was expecting it to be more difficult, especially the tier 8-11 range.
The problem with delves in terms of difficulty vs reward is that the core design favors tankiness/self sustain, and the difference between all the specs in WoW is huge in that regard. Since curios and power ups from rares are generic and not class specific, it’s never going to have an equal benefit for all the classes and specs.
I could think of a few solutions, but it’s too much work to realistically implement.
With the current design it wouldn’t be fair to just put 20 tiers in delves and bump the rewards to myth track. All it would accomplish is giving tanks free rewards, while most dps and healers would fall off when they reach scaling they simply can’t survive.
But this still has the issue of “enticing”/“requiring” to do Delves for more chances of armor that may proc with tertiary stats or gem slots.
There are currently 5 ways to get close-to-end-game gear: Raids, Mythic+ dungeons, Delves, Crafting and PvP. To me, the idea of making “exclusive” gear for modes, like it has happened for PvP, is problematic in the sense that it requires additional management and expenses from players who partake in multiple content and not only 1 or 2. We are all aware of the issues players faced in the past, especially versatile Druid players who had to maintain 6+ different sets of equipment depending on what they wanted to do. In my opinion returning to such a system is going to replace one problem with another.
My suggestion in another thread was to do away with content-specific equipment any longer and at the same time remove the “randomness” of the extra tertiary stats and gem slot. Let every content reward the same equipment, with just different item levels but upgradable to the absolute max (yes, even the Explorer series).
No there does not go do group content if you want harder tasks.
I did the T8 no problem at 622 with Brann healing, but it was just so tedious because the mobs have so much health and naturally at that ilevel I do little damage. So people saying they did the T11 “easily” perhaps have a different idea of what easy means because to me it’s blitzing through in 10 minutes or less.
You are right in that mob sponges are not challenging and T9-11 is supposed to be the hard mode for Delves for those that want a solo challenge. I’m not interested in challenge though, I just want to get the HC tier colour for my mog and doing it slowly through delves is fine by me.
If they made T9-11 more challenging in whatever ways people perceive as fun, go for it. This is why I don’t bother with the delve boss either, though from what I heard that’s just a “do the mechanics perfectly or die” fight. Snore. Doesn’t help that the reward is a god ugly mount.
I don’t think you should be getting better rewards beyond cosmetic though. You get more crests, that’s enough imo. It’s not really for challenging content it’s for open worlders/content casuals.
Put simply, they should bring a solo challenge like the brawler’s guild for those that want it and not try to squash it into delves.
They are quite easy - the only problematic part is those extra mobs are health sponges so it takes forever to clear in 5 mans.
But yeah tuning wise they are a joke
More rewarding? absolutely not. The moles already got their gilded handouts and we don’t need more incentive to force other people to do that trash content.
They made m+ so much easy for crest farm or hero gear farm , if you remove the cap , there will be no point doing m+.
Well you are nit-picking right now…
As long as tertiary stats are a “nice to have” rather than a “must have” then I dont see an issue here.
Additionall, I have long been asking for the 6 tokens in the vault to give you ring sockets OR terciary stat of your choice to gear. Which would invalidate the need to farm gear for terciary stats.
To me it is not a problem. Because I have to do it anywais. All specs do.
A gear set for DPS. A gear set for Raid (cause in raids I want more Crit than Vers). A gear set for M+ (cause I want more Vers than Crit)… ect…
What would stop you from simply farming Delves in 1 afternoon and upgrading gear to Mythic in a day ? For M+.
You would still need to impose arbitrary caps to “currency” aquisition based on what other modes would do. So the super small cap Delves have right now (to prevent M+ and Raiders from spamming Delves) would still exist.
Which defeats the purpose of a divorce to begin with.
Under my suggestion, farming Delves would only reward the Delve-type currency, which means any items upgraded with that currency would have only their Delve-type item-level increased. Example:
-=EDIT=-
This season there are some new items purchaseable for Conquest. They allow tier-set items that are acquired outside of PvP to be upgradeable to 678 in PvP. It’s not exactly my idea, but a small demonstration.
That’s because I consider a divorce to cause more problems than solve. I am one of the players that dips casually in multiple content but not pushing in either of those. A divorce would make it harder for my type of player to participate in any content since it puts up more barriers for me to overcome.
What difference is there to 1 item with 4 categories to upgrade. Or 4 items with 1 category each ?
I like your idea dont get me wrong. But it would still have the drawbacks you mentioned before:
The only difference to me is that your suggestion is more efficient in bag space.
You should think twice about this.
A divorce only helps pushers. OK. But currently, pushers are also limit how much reward and difficulty you get across all content you do.
So basically, you are at the mercy of swetlods that will take any advantage to farm things to oblivion. Creating problems not only in the mode they farm (Delves in this case) but also the mode they intend to play in (M+/Raid).
And you are stuck inside this battle, suffering the collateral damage.
So. IMO, you not having to suffer that damage far ouweighs the requirement to have 4 weapons in your bag. But I guess we can agree to dissagree here. In the end, its a matter of opinion to be honest.
All of this.
1 bag space versus 4 bag space as well as needing only 1 enchant (and possibly 1 gem)
If 2 solutions can bring identical results and one also has an additional perk, shouldn’t we select it?
But under my suggestion, those sweatlords wouldn’t need to step into Delves at all to push into their mode of preference (M+ or raid). There would be nothing dropping in Delves that would help them, neither as item nor as currency. At most they would be having more chances for items to drop until they fill up their entire BiS list. That is unsolvable unless we also impose a limit on number of items that can drop for a character per week… which is a horrible idea no matter how we look at it.
Good point. +1 on your suggestion.
Take brann with you and the difficulty will increase ten fold .even my 3 year old toddler can do better then him .
Well… given that Brann is supposed to replace a PuG player…
You get the full WOW experience with Brann.
i find +11 resonably challenging on 640 itlv hunter. on vengence DH which i did on 635 they are more then ok .
that said - as per blizzard - they are tuned for 650+ geared people to be done so if you do it in lower - good for you .
