Should Hunter be split into 2 different classes?

Just imagine Hunter being split into 2 classes. The first being one being, well Hunter and the second being Ranger

Hunter
Survival, Beast Mastery and Predator.

All three specs will have a singular pet which pet abilities will be based on your spec not the pet. the pet will simply now become about the appearance.

Survival is a 2-handed DPS melee spec which focuses on more bursty and damage over time DPS and will be the only Hunter spec which uses Traps, Nets, Spears and Poison darts. Survival will now have a trap gun allowing them to target enemies with a trap but this is interruptible.

Beast Mastery is a Duel Wield Tank spec with a focus on sharing damage with the pet even tanking for short periods as a CD option. Beast Mastery Hunter share health with there pet, meaning each of them take 50% of the damage and 50% of the healing is received on the other target.

Predator is a Duel Wield DPS spec which focuses on high sustain and high mobility DPS combined with higher PET DPS. Predator Hunter can mount there pet for improved mobility and have access to animal based attacks which will allow both themselves and their pet strike at the same time.

Ranger
Marksmen, Dark and Harpy specs

All Three specs will use bows/Crossbows/Guns and will not have access to a pet.

Marksmen is a focus on explosive range damage utilizing different ammunition types such as Flaming Arrows/Bullets, Explosive Arrows/Bullets, Frozen Tips, Poison Tips and Thunder Arrow/Bullets.

Dark is a focus on Range damage over time and high sustain damage that utilizes Shadow Magic in-addition to Ranged damage. Dark will be-able to summon temporary Undead Pets, inflict diseases and curses, will be-able to stealth and shoot through line of site via Void Portals.

Harpy is a ranged weapon healer spec which focuses on using Light & Nature healing and Healing Darts to heal targets.

What do you think?

Good luck with that combined with pet AI , u gona get hit by so many aoes people gona love healing you .

Also kiting as a pet must be fun as hell

No thank you! I like my pets and i like being ranged. Would hate to have to go melee

As a main hunter since TBC, I only have something to say: What about no?

I think it would be nice to get rid of the 2nd pet or atleast make animal companion talent inferior to other choices. Tank would make more sense for SURVIVAL spec.

I created a hunter because I wanted one pet and being ranged. Then legion came and ruined that. Splitting things up to 6 would make things worse.

If anything, marksmanship could use some love… survival is apparently this niche thing to stay so whatever.

No.
But what about a new specc:
Gunslinger

Gunslinger comes with a new type of weapons: pistols&revolves
Pistols have more dps because shortler cd’s wbile revolers have more power and mire punch (like fury warrior with dual 1hand wield for faster playstle or dual two hand weapon for more overall dmg)

It woud be a range dd in leather clothing with rather physical dmg (and some magic bullets) in a fast set of combo’s.

We have ONE example of a sort of Gunslinger already ingame: lord Godfrey in shadowfang keep with dual pistols.

Dual pistols be great! But rather a class than a spec.
3 specs could be Pirate,scoundrel,vigilante?
But not sure Hows would they each work

Go sit in the corner and think about what you’ve just said!
You’ve been a naughty naughty boy!

Then DO that. You don’t HAVE to take the talent when you play BM.
Or you can play MM.

Don’t ruin other people’s fun.
For me adding a 2nd pet option was THE best thing Blizzard ever did for BM.

If only they’d let us spec our pets again.

I just wish they’d define survival better. It just being the spec that has a pointy stick and throws bombs is kind of lame. I mean at the very least make it survive stuff or rename it to Bomber or whatever.

And limiting melee combat to just two-handed is silly. They should allow dual wielding imo. But yeah, the theme of the spec is weak.
