While MT is getting scaled back to 50, I am wondering whether I should attempt it 50, rather than 50? Say with a fresh character.
In a related news, in Legion we were kind of getting stronger as the time went on, so MT got easier eventually. I am not sure such pattern will now be possible, but I am still wondering is there some kind of path in which I could make my chars stronger, before attempting it.
Theres no reason why you can’t try it at 50. I did it at 50 something on my mage.
However… at certain renowns you get stam buffs, I don’t think you lose those in the mage tower so you’ll have more stam at renown 80 than 0 (I think)
Thanks for the replies. Is there a progress path way to make it more easier, like in Legion your Artifact was getting stronger, or that’s what it is?
51 is nice for casters because you unlock weapon oils. sharpening stones work at 50. some classes get really important upgrades between 50 and 60 that make it easier. gear is totally fine at 50, can get some green crafted rings with sockets at the AH, a heart of azeroth and some other random stuff then put enchants on. ravaged seed pod from the first boss in emerald nightmare is a powerful trinket that’s also easy to get.
You can do it as level 50, even with trial characters. This is something one famous tank from Echo did (I believe we can’t say names on forums so I won’t mention him). He completed the 36/36 challenges, majority of them with just trials characters. He’s on a different level due to how good he is, so I would get all the bonuses you can though.
If we look at bonuses, there are a couple of options to be better.
The major one being that gear with sockets will always be better than the one without, since only sockets don’t scale down. This essentially means that gear from Siege of Org mythic with full gems and enchants will be superior, to your SL set.
Nythendra seed pod trinket gives really good stats and output.
Mechagon trinket with the blast is incredibly good.
Potion of prolonged power is insanely overpowered to other potions.
Crusader enchant will pretty much negate all the hps requirements, since it heals for like 1k hp every few second, while you have 6-7k hp in the MT.
For some specs, azerite gear (no stats, just primary stat + stamina) is very good.
This are the ones I thought of, there are a couple more tricks, accessible on Wowhead
If you are attempting on a DK, go for Agatha. She is by far the easiest, and unholy has a very nice toolkit to counter the boss + the adds. You might struggle with the tanking one as it’s very difficult mechanically, and you have to multitask, and the frost one is a combination of a endurance race + practicing P1 over and over to not get killed, and P2 is just a brutal dps check.
