I’ve been watching Xaryu on his assassin HC run and noticed that on two random occasions now, he’s had skull level rogue mobs appear from stealth in the middle of Southshore.
Is this normal? I levelled there once and didn’t have it happen to me but I’m now wondering whether I should go there at all on my level 32 hunter. Would it be best to avoid it altogether?
I Leveled few times in that zone and did not encounter that issue. If you have good answer too escape that situation you will be fine. Of course if you want to be super safe ignore that zone but me personally I always level there alliance or horde
This is some sort of quest event, atleast according to google.
I think if you stick to the path out of town, you’re ok? (I’ve only come across them when entering the town from the east through the fields). The pat at Tarren Mill is easy to run in to if you’re not paying attention, I’d be more worried about that.
Yeah that’s what my 1st character died to. I saw a wondering yellow vendor on the path by the mountains and wanted to see what he had to sell. I was in the vendor menu when they 1 tapped me. Had no idea they patrolled that far out 
The assassins that appeared out of nowhere when Xaryu was playing though were literally slap bang in the middle of Southshore town. Has made me paranoid as hell
They are Quest event mob, be attentive and you can outrun them. Do not AFK in SS for any reason.

Probably do not afk in game at all, better log out and then log in again then find your character dead.

and Narillasanz, and the Tarren Mill Guards, so careful is the keyword for doing Southshore and surroundings.
and spend the 20 secs looking at the logout timer, ready to react … don’t ask me how I know.
