Should I boost at the end of the day? And on what server?

I think I overestimated my own patience when it comes to leveling a character: the idea was to get away from the established scene since I skipped TBC, but let’s be honest, I just don’t have it in me to level up again. I did it too many times in the past and apart from the 70-80 content, I really have 0 fun doing it right now like, at all…

Should I just go ahead and boost at the end of the day? What are some of the obvious cons about doing it? The economy, the GDKP, the bots?

Thanks

There is no cons at all about boosting. Everyone already leveled multiple characters from 1 to 80. and now everyone has a job and maybe even children to deal with.

The only con is that you only have one boost. So choose wisely which class you will boost to 70.

What do I get basically? Some gold, some gear, a lvl 60 flying mount (griffon) and so on I assume? Thank you.

that’s basically what you get, but most importantly you get a lv 70 which will save you 150 hours of your life (unless you like questing obviously, but usually people just want to access the high level content fast)

True enough. And last question if you don’t mind: is there a very populated, balanced server you’d recommend me to roll on (PVP) on the EU side, for that particular purpose?

I play on sulfuron which is very balanced imo and well populated, but it’s a french one.

you can check here:

Firemaw has a small queue, I would choose it, but not sure how balanced it is. I would definitely chose a 3 minutes queue server.

You can already buy gold on the fresh server sadly, so tbh, it will turn similar to the established ones. However, I think, that it’s worth playing slowly and level to 68 over the next few weeks to have a reset, since it will take a long time, until it catches up to the 3 years of unmoderated classic botting

Also, my main motivation on the fresh server is knowing, that everyone leveled properly to 70. I dislike in tbc, that you had whales buying 58 boosts, and then buying gold to boost to 70 in slave pens to join gdkps after, where they bought everything in 2 runs, while others had to work hard for the same stuff

Ah, un compatriote ! I’ll stop here, we’re not supposed to converse in French 'round these parts xD

I’ll take a look at the thread, thanks a lot.

The only con is spending 40 euros or whatever it costs. And if you don’t enjoy your time, it’s not really a loss (unless you make less than than amount in the time that it takes to level)
Economy, GDKP and bots issues will be there (even if eventually) no matter what, because the new servers don’t magically have better management.

40 euros to spare myself more than a hundred hours of leveling is fine, frankly.

Then there are 0 cons. Unless you do it on a dead server hehe

there is one: there seems to be 0 balanced pvp server, it’s all 99/1

why don’t you go in sulfuron if you are french?

I guess it’s less populated than the english ones, but still a lot of players

Well the plan is to go alliance but apparently the ratio is 65/35 in favor of horde, and that’s rarely a good thing, because in the long term these servers tend to become the same ones as firemaw, meaning 99/1 servers. Not sure it’s safe bet honestly?
nb: and yes, I don’t like being the underdog, so I’d have to go horde anyways.

I’m not sure the ratio is 65-35
With the new human racial, there should be more alliance players. Also as a PVP player, I love being in the smaller population so I get to pvp more often.

And sulfuron is the biggest french pvp server, if that server become unbalanced, it’s the end of WOW for french, and that would never happen

99% Alliance, and Berny on the other side.

There are no balanced PvP realms. So if you want to play English realms choose a full one. PvP or PvE they are mostly very similar, no world PvP.

If you already played wotlk u lose nothing by boosting and save days
