Of course, but it’s gonna be soooooooo slooooooooooow.
Definitely level something that gets an increased movement speed buff to save time.
True that slow is good
Yeah I’m actually leveling a warlock on classic and it’s super relaxed.
don’t expect to follow the crazy rushers, they are already lvl 60 in only one week they don’t sleep
personally i have 3x lvl 20, and goin’ slowly that way playing different classes
Of course, always.
How? It’s running for at least 15 month.
Thread is answered for OP but there is one aspect I feel useful to share for reference.
In my experience it’s not about the speed of levelling. Anything can be fun.
It’s about what you have access to once at maximum level.
Playing cap content usually requires commitment.
Either to a guild and a schedule, or time to join pugs.
Either you organize them or there are prerequisites.
If you cannot commit (focus) to reach cap in time, you probably won’t succeed there.
Also, cap content is ultimately a very limited part of the game world.
Hence it’s a safe play to just do whatever you want. Your instincts will guide you.
For example my altoholism and lateness looks like self-defeating, but it’s actually about avoiding the masses at cap and wasn’t there with the RDF at the end of WLK.
thanks for your honest answer . looks like that is a problem with most MMOs, you either have to commit to staying up to date with the gear and patches or you lose the opportunity to experience that piece of content.
That is a problem indeed although I do think that thanks to the Janky itemization of Vanilla it’s actually not that big of a deal. You’ll often be sticking to random Greens and Blues over the “raid gear” due to them providing more points in meaningful stats like Hit Rate, Attack Power or Spell Power. To give you an example few days ago I finished Deadmines Quest Chain on my Warlock nabbing Staff of Westfall as reward. Normally quite a good staff for few levels. I ended up replacing it the next day because in a stroke of luck I ended up finding Green Staff with +10 Shadow Damage Increase. That’s not uncommon with Vanilla and likely won’t massively change until much later phases.
Imo the best way yo enjoy vanilla is to treat it like an oldschool rpg game. You start out with nothing and then slowly increase in power and gear. Play it like you would play an rpg.
why rush if u are new? u just have said u want to experience it…so experience it?
PLUS they delayed bgs and raids on purpose so new players can enjoy it the way it was 20 years ago//so this start is even more fun than 5 years ago one
Sorry but during lvling as a caster, especially low level, +damage has such a low impact you kinda want to stick to spirit and int gear. You’ll be less oom and do more crits and regen faster.
Staff of Westfall is still better.
And I don’t know where you got that a random green will replace a molten core epic? Also not true.
Not as a warlock. As warlock +spell dmg is king and +shadow wrath. Because you are gonna go drain specc anyway. So +spelldmg give better lifetap and better drain. As a 35 warlock I have around +80 shadow damage from gear and that helps a ton. Intellect is not important because of lifetap, sure spirit is okey, but +spelldmg do more than spirit.
