I have Shadowlands expansion. My worgen warlock char is level 48 now and I got Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons main quest right now. I didn’t touch Zandalar Campaign and A Dying World main quests from BfA.
So my question is should I skip that BfA content for SL expansion quests or not and why? Thanks to all.
if you have never played shadowlands, sure, go for it.
after you reach level 50 you wont get any exp from bfa anymore anyways, except you want to do it for the story given you are interested in it, then more power to you if you want to finish that first.
as someone who has done the shadowlands story numerous times…i go at 50 because i want to stay as long away from it as possible.
Well, here’s the thing. On your first character you MUST finish the main campaign of Shadowlands to unlock almost everything for the endgame. A truly moronic design choice. So… it depends what your goals are. If you want to get to the engdame as soon as you can, you are better off starting Shadowlands.
BfA content is not mandatory, but you can complete it fully for the story - XP gains will cease or drop to a minuscule amount like 400 per quest when dinging 50.
It is however, a wise choice to make more or less progress in it for rep and the like, if you still need allied races unlocked as those are partly bound to the war campaign and so are worth the one-time hassle. (Say, I like my kul tiran shammy up to this day.)
So, I’d say you do that Dying Planet qline (I think that leads to war campaign) and see what progress you can make on your way to 50.
you can skip BfA if you want, hell you should skip as much of SL as you can via catchup and skips ( not sure how much if it’s your first toon to go through it)
Story arc in BfA is a bit disjointed for Alliance and the Zandalar Campaign is much more fun for Horde (who also get more interaction with Vulpera, so double good)
Imho, watch all the BfA Cinematics, finishing with the intros to the current Xpac, then go Shadowlands.
If you decide to level some Alts, MoP is probably the best Xpac to level in, using ‘Chromi Time’.
