Hi everyone, just started playing again recently and encountered some frame related issues. i managed to fix them but in the process enabled this setting and cannot tell if it helps with stutters, i’ve read online elsewhere that it is beneficial when it comes to WoW but cannot tell if the stutters im experiencing are within margin of error (mainly tested around orgrimmar, stutters happen if i go to fast towards the center where everyone is, a stutter happens then everyone loads in. Could this be a GPU clock related stutter?) So im asking here to see if anyone uses this setting or if i should just leave it alone. Sorry if this is a bad question, i just get indecisive about settings like these which could or could not just be placebo.
Here are specs:
3090 FE
5800x3d
32gb 3600mhz ddr4
Installed on a ssd
Temperatures are well under throttling aswell. so im guessing this is a GPU clock stutter, so im asking just to be sure/ advice. Thanks for any help
Yes, always. That being said, will it massively affect game peformance? No. Will it affect benchmark scores? Yes.
This is normal “phasing stutter” as i call it.
Happens alot when flying over the hub in Valdrakken.
There’s not much you can do if anything since it’s engine and also server related.
I would not recommend using that setting if your GPU is boosting as it should.
That setting will just hinder your GPU to use power saving methods and downclock itself when not being fully loaded.
As i explained above, it’s not the GPU.
WoW is very CPU-limited and most of the game logic runs on one main CPU-thread.
This is also why the X3D CPUs perform so well here.
Got a 5800X3D myself
