Should I use Summon White Tiger Statue?

I’m new to playing a Monk. Most WW builds say to take Summon White Tiger Statue, ST or AoE without putting it in the rotations, but I’m wondering if it’s even worth the GCD. Plus, I don’t know if using it breaks CC on enemies, which could be troublesome.

Is it considered something people should see a WW Monk always using in Raids or Dungeons?

For soloing, I prefer to take the Ox statue because it’s far more useful there.

I know I can obviously do what I want but I’d just like to see the community’s general opinion.

In raids and dungeons I would say so, yes. Technically it isn’t a requirement, but it is a healthy amount of free damage you get from a fire and forget ability.

For reference I checked some of my logs. On single target each use of the statue is around 315K damage, roughly 3.3K DPS increase on single target. On AoE it tends to be more significant though I do not have a reference for that one as I mainly tank in dungeons.

As to people expecting it I would say no. People in general have no idea how WW monk works, and unless you find an actual WW main who calls you out on it the majority will not care as long as you are doing damage.

Thanks, very helpful.

I’ll just let people looking in the future know that, after testing it, it does break CCs that can be broken with damage. So, there’s definitely a lot of group situations where you wouldn’t want to use it. I think Blizzard should change this with it causing damage over such a huge area tbh.
