Should players get a 5min cooldown when selling in trade chat?

As you all know trade chat is flooded with crafting sellers spamming the same messages every 5sec on high pop servers. So should we only be able to write 1 messages every 5min in trade chat pr account? It will stop some of the spam for sure. If anyone needs help they can always use general chat.

It sounds like a good idea on paper, but feels like a double-edged sword. Trade chat is also often a social space, at least on roleplaying realms. Maybe this would be a good idea for the vast majority of realms, but for social realms, it should be turned off.

At least could be limited to 1 message per minute or something.

5 Minutes is a bit harsh, but to have a slow mode come into effect during periods of extreme traffic would be cool.

Although what would help with it, is if on the crafters workbench you can advertise services which you can view from the consortium when making a crafting order.

Id love a slow mode like this as i usually just turn the trade & services channels off 'cause the spam is just too much on the capital cities.
How am i supposed to chat with people when their responses get buried in trash in mere moments.

There is already a “You are writing too often, please wait a bit” cooldown thingy in every zone/world chat. I think that one is already good enough.

But for trade chat it would make sense to remove that system entirely and put in a general 30s cooldown for message posting instead. Like a “Slow Chat” mode on Twitch.

And add an adaptive system to it. When too many players partake in the trade chat conversations, it increases

depending on activity level.

Maybe it is time to move trade/service from chatlog to GUI.
