Should they adapt some old time mounts for dragonriding?

it’s pretty sad that except dungeon/raid instances, arenas/bg and some rare situations, MOST mounts I have are pretty much useless except when u run out of vigor :stuck_out_tongue:

I really hope that when this gets implemented that in the mount tab they incorporate a way to distinguish between which mounts are dynamic flying and which are not.

Its literally the plan for a while now and you will be able to switch what mode you want, pleb mode or dragon riding.

Every mount will be dragonriding in TWW (next expansion).
You’ll be able to toggle between dynamic flying (dragonriding) and normal flying we have since TBC.

Both have their up and downsides imo, but I think most people will be making the switch to dynamic. It’s going to look hella weird on flying horses though, especially the whirl.

Plenty of mounts will have Dragonriding(renamed Dynamic flying) in TWW. They don’t promise all the mounts because it might be too hard to do them all for the expansion launch but should expect most. It is pretty much guaranteed that all mounts that share skeletons with current Dragonriding mounts will have it.

Im hoping it’ll become a some sort of toggleable skill that turns the current mount to dragon riding / regular flying, so that the collection tab wouldnt get bloated with 2 copies of each mount.

Also personally i dont care what they do with dragon riding moving forward as i will always prefer regular flying.
Accuracy > Speed

Im worried that I’m going to lose huge chunk of regular flying mounts. I don’t DR because it makes me feel sick.

I just hope the ability to toggle on/off dynamic flying won’t be done by needing to visit an NPC or can only be done in a capital city, and does not have some stupid cool down.

Currently I use both flying types, dragonriding for getting to places at a distance quickly and normal for accuracy when doing certain quests and treasure huntibg etc. It’s nice to have the ability to switch as and when required.

I’m hoping the same that there is some kind of option or toggle. So far I’m not aware of any so come the patch I’m going to lose the use of a lot of mounts.

True did not think of that as an option. A toggle added would be a good quality to have too.

Aye, but knowing blizzard it most likely be the FM in the capital you gots ta pay him 1k gold to turn it on off for the current selected mount with a 90 day cd

I am not too fussed if older mounts are not dynamic flying so long as moving forward all new mounts have the option. As is there are just far too many mounts in the game to be bothered. So far the plunder parrot is the one I am using as its far less bulky than the dragons. Just my choice for now.

I thought i’d seen somewhere a while back that you would be able to choose between the vigor system or normal flying so you could still use older mounts as they are now but can’t for the life in me remember were i saw that… maybe it was just wishful thinking and i imagined it

Found this on Wowhead

Dynamic Flying

Introduced as Dragonriding in the Dragonflight expansion, Dynamic Flying will be further expanded upon into The War Within expansion! This will give players multiple methods of transportation to choose from throughout their adventures. Here’s everything we know so far:

  • Coming in Patch 10.2.5 and into The War Within, players will be able to Dragonride in all zones - including the Eastern Kingdoms, Outlands, Kalimdor, etc.

  • Players can choose between dynamic flight and “TBC Flying”, requiring the player to only be on the ground while mounted to switch, meaning players can easily switch between the different flying styles.

  • Dynamic flying will be available to players immediately upon arriving to Khaz Algar.

  • Dragonriding glyphs will be moving to an evergreen system.

  • Druids will be able to use dynamic flying with their Flight Form in The War Within.

  • Players can choose between dynamic flight and “TBC Flying”, requiring the player to only be on the ground while mounted to switch, meaning players can easily switch between the different flying styles.

Answer’s the question of a toggle too and most likely a “spell”.

Ooh, i didnt imagine it - thank you! :joy:

That also partly answers the second question on how you switch between them. Hopefully it’s just an option in your spellbook then.

MVP who doesn’t read :P, its a toggle.

look, when making quests on small area, or archaeology or you have to land on a small elevated area - pleb flying is better lol

I could be wrong here but, I’m fairly positive that they said they were going to make all, or at the very least, the vast majority of flying mounts be capable of dragon-riding.

The animation they need to make for each mount when dragon-riding is the hangup; if I remember correctly.
