Should torghast have a minimum ilevel

Quick disclaimer this is not a Torghast bashing thread just my own experience.
So I picked up the quest Signs of the lion from Bolvar to find 3 clues so I cleared the first 17 floors relatively easy no deaths then I hit the brick wall which was kosarus the fallen not a particularly difficult boss only 1 Noticable mechanic avoid purple squirlies on the floor easy enough you might think but unfortunately that was not the case for full transparency I had 99 anima powers 80 soul remnants and 161k health my I level is almost 195 and the boss had 3.1 million health.
5 deaths later my run was over i could not even get him to 20% kill shot range.
This was level 1 corridors now i am not the best player in the world but neither am i the worst and i can play my class my final death recap was 48k,57k,58k,72k and 70k melee hit that was in between the 4 sec cast to revive my pet i suppose my question to you all is should torghast come with a minimum ilevel like dungeon’s and raids so to prevent the 2 hour+ time wasted or leave it as it is and risk causing animosity towards torghast.
seems i have posted on an alt my main is a bm hunter.

I’d imagine people would have common sense enough to realise, neither maw or torghast is intended for any one below at least 184…

But that is still pretty low at this point tbh

I think the issue is there are too many variables in class, spec and anima power builds to put a definitive ilevel on it.

Also you can run the first 6 floors three times for that quest if it helps.

thank you llyrian i have done that.

I did my layer 8 TC solo at 182 ilvl.

Then i’m confused why some people say TC is hard?

If you can do it at 182 ilvl?

I’m just basing that ilvl off of other complaint threads…

Did not know it was possible to do stuff with low ilvl, considering the amounts of complaining

184? I’ve no idea why you would suggest that. The maw is fine at 140+, my 155 Outlaw Rogue struggles on final bosses in Torghast level 3, (2 is ok), but my 164 Feral Druid can clear level 4 (not tried him on Twisting, that’s Coldheart and Soulforges), and as MM Hunter I’ve been clearing lvl 8 since 175. The forums are full of people who report similar, your suggestion just serves to unnecessarily dissuade people.

Based on the amount of complaining “Torghast/Maw is hard” i’ve seen.

I’ve just based my assumptions around that.

I doubt i had below 180 before i went there.

No it shouldn’t.

I don’t care what your experience is, chances are many people can do it with lower ilevels you consider it impossible at.

It’s supposed to be a challenge, both reward preparation, awareness and caution, qualities I suspect are sometimes lacking in the complainers, judging by the substance of their complaints.

If you’re only in it for the quest, you can just do the first 6 floors three times and get the items. If you want to do all 18 floors, well in my experience it depends on class, with my guardian druid i had no problems when my ilvl was around 181.

On topic though, no it doesn’t need to have a minimum level. It’s meant to be like the mage tower, so some people can probably do it at low ilvl’s others need a higher bit.

Personally I dont like a main quest (sorta) should have the need of an minimum ilvl… If you wanna have a challenge you do higher layers, Layer 1 should be doable with a newly dinged 60, with ANY kind of crap gear. The whole place dont reward anything so I dont really see the point of the hardcore stuff…

Even TC with the total 144 floors (8 layers, 18 floors per layer) is way too easy at 193 ilvl.

Breezed through all 8 layers in one sitting without wiping once. I hope they give it more mechanics to up the difficulty.

I’ve done everything pretty easily up to Twisting Corridors as a 181 ilvl DK with no legendary (waiting for the world boss… lame system).
Certainly don’t think Torghast needs ilvl.

But Twisting Corridors should probably have a disclaimer, like for layer 2 it could say Recommended item level: 190. Are you sure?
Layer 1 took me 3 attempts, each attempt being 1 to 2 hours in length. I’m not even attempting layer 2 until I’m 190+ with my Legendary.

Well the issue there is class balance is also a huge factor in Torghast.
Ele breezes through Torghast and has multiple build options that are easily acquired. Such as perma Earth Ele’s with Earth Quakes.

Unholy Death Knights require a few stacks of certain traits.

Because some classes have it a lot harder than others.
Then it’s down to bad anima RNG.

Ilvl doesn’t really matter as much, it’s the anima powers that you need.
