Should Warlocks start with Green Fire?

I started leveling a Warlock. Destruction Warlock, the coolest lock spec imo by far.

And of course all my spells are as they start… and they are awesome, for a Fire Mage. Imo for a Warlock to be a Warlock he/she needs fel.

And what did I do to make my Warlock not look like a Fire Mage? Well I spent 3 freaking hours today running around The Isle of Thunder in circles trying to find and kill rares. Killed all of them at least once, some of them twice, two of them even three times… and to no results of course.
(Btw am I doing something wrong with getting that freaking Tome?)

Rares spawn like once an hour, and even when you find them you oftenly end up watching other players killing them right in front of your face.

Imo this is just too “complicated” and makes you basically unable to play a Warlock, but rather a Demon Summoning Fire Mage. Warlocks should imo start with Green Fire from the start, and a normal fire as a customization option.

You can use the pronoun “they” for cases like this, it works as a singular neutral pronoun.

That green fire is a status symbol for many
And I think lore wise, you have to also work your way down to damnation to be so fel tainted your fire turns green
A desto lock - where the most noticable the green fire thing - is just basically a fire mage without any rigorous school or formal traning, or just simply chaotic and insane idividual…
Even they have to work and squeeze the demon juices out of the enslaved and the souls to be damned enough to be green fired IMHO

I did the “green” fire quest line a long time ago on my Lock… you know… When it was a lot harder, but even then only took me a few days when I had nothing to do.
Its already 100 times easier to do these days I don’t see what the problem is, this is a MMORPG your expected to work or grind for cool s**t, why should it be made any easier than what it already is these day’s

Hmm, most of Destruction spells are Fire themed Immolate, Conflagerate, Incinerate, Rain of Fire etc… sry but kind of makes a lot of sense they look like Fire NOT Fel

No wonder the game is the way it is these days , everybody expects everything for nothing. What about the “old” world legendries, you know like Shadowmourne and Dragonwrath that literally take months to get, even today, suppose you want those for free too.

Out of all the cool class specific rare achieves and Items in the game Lock “green” fire is probably the easiest of them all to get.

Doubt it. I remember it being really easy to do. You can just buy the tome I think?

Yes from AH, how much easier do they want it :stuck_out_tongue:

You can do it pretty easily, at this point you are asking for them to completely push aside pretty interesting quest, rather than really add anything.

Besides lock fire is different than fire mage, it’s actually pretty cool, despite me personaly being green fire user.

The warlock was originally more of the Dark wizard type of class, using forbidden magic, not necessarily Fel (Shadow bolt, siphon life, life tap, Death coil, immolate, soul fire, soul shards). Some still exist in there original form, like siphon life

Blizzard changed it to a “demon user” class after having added the death knight. From that point it started heading towards more demon focused spells (hand of Gul’dan for example, or meta)

When it first came out it was nigh on impossable to start with but with pre patch WoD and SoO gear became a joke .

Yes ofc it was cool and quite unique at start.

Forget to mention it seems to only drops for locks now in first place

Hell naw! My Green FYIAAAAH!!
Earn it to keep it, dont make it easy, I got it in MoP

The fire appearance should be bound to the spells rather than chars, and the green fel fire colour on spells should either be glyphed, only appear on certain Warlocks-specialised spells, or appear when crit procs.

Remember Destruction and Fire Mages shares the same school of magic, just as Affliction and Shadow Priests. Fire is fire, and Shadow is Shadow. It will be unnatural to make all Warlock spells appear as they are from a non-existing magic school of fel fire.

Buy it from AH like I did. Then enjoy the quest line. It’s really good.
