Should we get stats reforger from Mop?

Since we will be getting less loot?

Short answer: Yes. Long answer: Yes we should.

I think reforge was another good feature that Blizzard removed because it was “too confusing for players”. I really hate the fact that they keep underestimating players and treat us like we’re stupid or something.

I would love reforging to come back. Sad they took it away, why did they take it away? :’(

I guess blizz could make quest when max level and teach them for how use it.

If I remember MOP was don’t teach them. I used addon for reforget easy.

Like in nazjatar had quest teach them upgrade armors

Cause it wasn’t necessary anymore. It was introduce to fix stats with hard caps, like hit and expertise, so once those stats were removed, there was no point to keep reforging around.

Ah yes I forgot about those annoying little things. I would still like to change my versa into haste where I can though!

We used something like Mr Robot to tell you what to reforge optimally or you could just go for your most valuable stats. I believe the addon had an ingame and website based version.

It meant you could get more out of pieces with bad stats. It was a nice feature IMO.

It’d still serve a purpose in making gear with bad stats a little less bad, and it’d be a way to have more control over your character build(s).

Both good things imho.

And then follow this up by creating a gear system that involves running sims everytime you get a decent item because you cannot tell if it’s an upgrade or not.

As that is simple and intuitive, not like ‘I like haste, I’m going to turn some of that versatility that I don’t like into haste.’

I don’t know if this is blizzard’s intention though, if they wanted to give us the choice of what stats to have on every piece of gear there are easier ways to go about it, like having the item drop with an unassigned secondary stat slot, which allows us control over 100% of that stat rather than 40% from reforging.

Also i think the premise of this topic is wrong. When Ion said it will drop less loot, i guess it means fewer items, but the total pool of items and stat combos would be about the same. That’s my interpretation at least.

And then they tried to discourage people from simming and failed miserably in 8.3.

Sure. Raidbots is going to get a spike in their subs. Now that people will be siming with all reforge options available.
And if that 1 new ring actually messes up a soft/hard cap or something. O boy…have to re-sim and reforge everything.
So 20 mins break between bosses mandatory to see if the droped item is indeed and upgrade

I want to laugh, I really do, but I can’t. I’m closer to crying

I think Blizzard’s intent for the system is exactly what you described, but the side-effect of getting better use out of more items was nice.

Regardless of what the underlying system providing the option for gear’s stat customization would look like (to an extent at least), I think the game would be better off with something like that.

I think the real answer is to invent a form of smart loot. I don’t mind RNG but when it’s the same frickin bracers that so don’t even forge or give better stats it’s so demoralising and not. fun.

It did soften the blow of getting sh*tty loot somewhat, I quite liked it.

It was removed because at that time stats that required hardcaps was present, like hit and expertise

I only played wotlk legion and bfa ,so i am not familiar with reforging. Were a "price " for reforge like ilvl drop or something ?
