Icy Veins says you should only use HB with Rime proc, even in mutli-target. Do you think this is correct, or do you ever use it without Rime?
if the targets already have frost fever, then always use HB with rime
I’m talking about before they have frost fever, IcyVeins says to never use howling blast without rime, not even to apply frost fever.
If you are starting fight with abom limb sure just wait 1 sec otherwise it seems wrong. You need frost fever for runic power and damage.
Which page is this on? I’ll update it appropriately.
It’s not technically true. You use naked HB to initiate Obliteration windows on pull. It’s also generally worth it to use naked HB for the DoT.
Ok so I just ran some tests on a dummy with an ilvl 26 weapon vs my 249 weapon. Killing machine procs literally only deal 1k less damage. Auto attacks about 250 less. Non- KM obliterates about 350 less.
What that tells me is that as a frost dk don’t give a damn about your weapon, just get one with the right stats. It only increases with mastery and strength.
No wonder our obliterate and frost strike hit like a wet turd if weapon damage isn’t even added to the scaling. I’ll be honest that I am alot less excited about getting a weapon from my weekly vault if this stays the same.
This post is very misleading. Weapon ilvl is the most important stat by far. Abilities scale with attack power which itself scales with weapon dps. Attack power = strength + 6 x weapon dps.
I’m just saying, the difference between an ilvl 26 and a 249 should (in my eyes) be far greater than a measly 1k increase in damage on KM procs. I would suggest you try it for yourself and see how little the upgrade in ilvl actually means. I’m not saying it’s not an increase, ofc it is, but it should be greater then what it is now.
Compare our upgrade to a ret pally for example. if you upgrade to a 249 weapon as ret, the spike in damage is enormous.
UDK benefit from MH ilvl even lower, he gain the most power from mainstat and mastery. Anyway any heavy burst melee go for a MH first.
