Should've done Boss id instead of Raid id

It would be infinitely better for pug scene, your tank DCed after killing first 5 bosses on Wednesday? Now you have to pray somebody is an idiot enough to waste ID for a possible 3 boss clear. So you clear 5/12 and that’s it, you can’t kill other bosses even if you want.

You want full clear? Go to discord pugs, sign and dedicate 5 hours for a raid, where somebody could still DC or argue with each other. So a worse version of a guild which is stupid.

With Boss Id, if you’ve cleared 11/12 you can ACTUALLY play the game and join another run and kill this boss.

Is it not at Boss-Based? It says so here:

You meant you would like to have it Loot-Based which didn’t came until MoP.

Loot based meaning that you can enter and defeat a boss any number of times but receive only loot once per lockout.

And Boss-Based meaning you can enter a different ID except if they’ve killed someone already they can’t if it’s alive. For more info see the lockout article.

Yeah, Loot-Based, didn’t play retail after but I really enjoy this solution. Didn’t know actually that Boss-Based is already in place, so ty, but it’s still very limited. Can’t join fresh runs which at small servers are basically the only ones, but it’s something at least.

BTW what happens one of the members (or the leader) clears the full raid with another group? Are all the others screwed?

Exactly. Anyone can join your lockout and clear it while you are not in (ofc they need an invite)

No. Boosting services are out of whack as it is. And people would start to whine about loot instantly.

Yep, been very unlucky with pugs on my alt recently.
Literally every one of the 4 pugs I did, in both 10 and 25-man, disbanded after we killed Saurfang. Either people start to disagree with the leader and leave or we wipe because people have no clue how to do fester/rotface.

It’s absolutely insane. I join in on my 5.2 hunter for a normal run with lootship on HC, I check the other people and see loads of players that are 5.5 - 5.7, so I think “great, gonna be a smooth run”. After Lady it’s clear it won’t be when I see I’m doing more dps than a 5.7 geared rogue (he’s not even wearing pvp gear!).

The moment one person leaves it’s screwed basically. Even more so on 10m. Who in their right mind would join a run in progress? Or do people just want easy fast loot and intend to leave after Saurfang? No clue tbh but sure feels that way.

I’m just gonna stick to my weekly guild runs and avoid pugging I guess.
