How are these soposed to work?
seems in bgs I get 1 for a random win and 2 for an epic win, wheras the dk in our guild seems to get random amounts a bg upto 5, so now our pally who runs with him is on 101 and DK has now finished on 200. our other dk seems to get extra amounts aswell.
Surely these should be a set amount not some fictatious percentage or im missing something.
Meanwhile, progressing heroic Ny’alotha, I think 11 (total) bosses over 2 weeks… have about 60. Didn’t even know there were other ways to get them and I feel like I have less than I should? 
Yep bosses is one way battlegrounds another, he was on 90 just before the weekend so summits up, and he aint cheating.
last week i used to get up to 5 shreds per epic bg + 2 if we win it,but now i only get 1 per win only (EPIC BG),however if you win ranked 2v2 you get 1 (which is a really fast way if you ask me)
Meanwhile I have total of 1 from world bosses.
I think it depends on how active you are in a bg.
I got 6 from one where I capped objectives and such.
I only have one… What does the quest you need them for enables?
It’s odd. Some people seem to be getting 3-4 per BG just while playing the game. I only get 1-2 at the end and only if it’s a win. I did, however, got some from heroic bosses, too, so I wonder if there is some kind of cap. I still get one Shred every two arena wins.
I tried this as both moonkin and healer, and I was very active, did a lot of healing and damage. I also stood in towers, etc. Meanwhile, a friend gets Shreds randomly - while he was drinking or standing idly outside Drek in AV.
The only thing that separates me from my friends is that I got 30 from heroic bosses this week, and that I have a higher total (90).
Each pvp kill has a chance to give you an item as well, apart from the ones at the end.
That is how it works for my friends, but not for me. I’ve done a lot of epic BGs over the past week, many of them zerg BGs with a large number of HKs – and zero Shreds outside of the ones for wins. I could be exceptionally unlucky, but it’s somewhat improbable seeing as friends who have had no heroic boss kills this week receive 2-4 Shreds per game (during games).
This is the thing with RNG, some finish things in an instant while others may never complete it.
The only bad luck protection I saw implemented was in legion for legendaries, that’s about it.
Got total of 8 with a bg and an epic bg, both wins.
Nope can rule that out having played same bgs as him and though he is good pvp, say in temple of kotmogu we had similar good points and still he got 3 to my one on the win.
Maybe its just for hero classes it seems by replies

This is more than range though- I can understand occasionally our dk getting more shreds, but not every bg won or almost all they win, while mine and others seem set at 1 for random and 2 for epic. thats not ranged its fixed.
There seems to be a problem with the HK component of the quest this week.
I’ve got roughly 1K HKs inside BGs this week and got a grand total of 0 shreds of insanity from HKs in that time.
I have gotten 1 per win and 1 or 2 (less frequently) for epic BG win.
I submitted a bug report, hopefully they will look into it, but if the 8 day average wait time for tickets is any indication I’m not sure I’d expect a change any time soon (that is if there already wasn’t a stealth nerf)
well at this rate say 3 wins random a night as bgs are tough at mo, I should be done in about 7 to eight weeks when some can complete with the same win rate in 2 to 3 weeks, not how it should be I feel.
It is this way for me, too. I am not getting any during BGs, only at the end, and only if it is a win. Other people get 2-3 shreds in every BG. plus 1-2 for winning. It is very consistent.
