Siege of Boralus First Boss

Been wondering, if this boss fight contains a bit of randomness or not.

Not sure, but does he pick a random person, or does he pick the most far ranged?

I usually run around trying to get to the closest bomb, sometimes it’s 1 sec too late, and I get the chain thingie right before he hits the bomb.

Is there strategy to this, or is this really a boss with some randomness to it?

bombs come with a circular warning on the ground. If u dont watch them out it feels like bombs spawn too late before his fixate.

I guess who he fixates is random but if you stand close to those circles before bombs spawn (not on top of them obviously), it takes most of “randomness” out of the fight. You dont really need to run around so much this way. If boss chooses u and runs, he will most likely hit the bomb. Chose the circle with some distance away from the boss.

he usually only targets Range first but if you dont have a range then a melee will be targeted (holy paladin counts as melee for some reason)

Holy paladin and mistweaver monk are melee attack healers with consideration as melee, despite their ability to heal at distance. It also allows for variety in tactics and placement.

What I always do, and I’m not sure if it helps, at pull not the be the furthest ranged. Usually it picks another person, but could just be random. Of course then I’m able to heal that character.

I just find this fight having a randomness to it. WE do have Ank, so I try to keep that in mind
