Silver Covenant Should be Killed off or Dissolved

They have always been a plot device for blood elves, they literally have zero independent development and they fail constantly. Lets take a history tour, shall we? Can we talk about a single event about them in which they are not blood elf plot device?

WotLK:

They were created to prevent blood elf entry into Dalaran. (failed)

In Argent tournament they act as counterpart to blood elf quest chain that gives Quel’Delar to player

Cataclysm:

They are invited by blood elves to defend Quel’thalas against Amani trolls. Interestingly enough, they suddenly don’t have a problem working with trolls either (Darkspear trolls)

MoP:

They participate in purge of Dalaran to kill and kick out blood elves and sunreavers from Dalaran. The Silver Covenant is rekt by a counter attack by Grand Magister Rommath and much of their work is undone and many blood elves escape before Jaina arrives to help Silver Covenant.

In Isle of thunder Silver Covenant tries to stop blood elves from getting magic and technology from the area. This fails as well, since blood elves clearly acquire both. Mostly notably the blood golems, which they use both in WoD and Legion.

Legion:

Despite playing no role in attack on Suramar no matter what side you play, they suddenly appear at the last cutscene in large numbers. Just goes to show how neglected and irrelevant they are and they only appear every time blood elves do.

This is amplified by the fact that there are void elves now, and along with Alleria they completely replace and invalidate both Vereesa and Silver Covenant, as we saw nothing about Silver Covenant in BfA and even during legion they were replaced and removed from Dalaran as well.

Do something with Vereesa, imply that majority of members either joined void elves, went back to Silvermoon, or died. Possible death reasons include: Theramore, upcoming prepatch scourge invasion (SC have a camp in northrend) and so on.

Blood elves no longer need irrelevant plot device. Void Elves are a properly established counter to blood elves that need and deserve every Thalassian elf spotlight on alliance.

I can’t tell if this is a Troll thread given your username (Hordehighelf), guild name (Blood elves are High elves), and it’s a Friday so weekend.

But let’s suppose it’s realistic here.

Silver covenant haven’t been active ever since Void elves were added. So what exactly do you want?

(Kill them off) is not an option lmao. We need them for Alliance WOTLK content. Getting exalted with them and getting the tabard, mounts, and other stuff.
Plus half of Northern Dalaran’s citizens would be dead.

Why don’t I use your own logic and kill the Sunreavers instead. One of them was a traitor and killed many High elves in Theramore and gave Garrosh the bomb.

Closure. All their function so far has been a plot device for blood elves. Void Elves can have a more independent plot. They already do.

Silver Covenant cannot be included in the game anymore without stealing the spotlight from void elves. Anything they can bring to the table, void elves can do better.

Sunreavers are meant to represent blood elves on Kirin’tor, and ever since Legion they are back to doing just that. They became a rogue faction since they were kicked out of Kirin’tor until they returned in Legion.

You can’t just delete the Silver covenant. We need them for WOTLK, MOP, and LEGION content.

Should we focus more on the Void elves? absolutely yes! This just means they need to use the void elves more. Not delete a Group that has been here since WOTLK.

Past time content doesn’t matter here, as they can stay. We have a lot of things that no longer, but do exist if we go “back in time”. Technically speaking, Dalarana is no longer in Northrend anyway.

sorry but yes you can delete them, even if they play a minor part in old expansions(MoP was Kirin’tor not the Silver Covenant)

notice how we still see Garrosh walzing through the Argent tournament grounds?
he’s dead and gone but for timey wimey reasons he exists in old expansions

i honestly cannot see a reason to keep the Silver Covenant as their entire existence was just playing antagonist to the Blood Elves,
now the Blood Elf antagonists appear to be the Lightforged(in wide scale battles the Blood Knights combat the the Lightforged, as High Elves do not like to kill eachother).

IMO they should just return to Silvermoon on the pilgrimage and stay, not being alliance and not being horde - just there.

Silver Covenant are not anti Belf. They are just a group of Helves who joined the Alliance.

Vereesa even said that she would consider the Blood elves redeemed if they join the Alliance. So it’s not a racial thing, it’s more about faction.

Silver Covenant are not the only Helves who are in the Alliance so if you kill them off there are plenty more of them.

  • Highvale High elves in Hinterlands

  • Stormwind High elf citizens

  • Allerian Stronghold High elves

So many other groups than the Silver covenant. Good luck killing them all

the Silver Convenant are specifically anti-belf and nothing else, that is the sole reason for their existence.

Lor’themar even allows them to return to the Sunwell on pilgrimage

there are not plenty more alliance high elves, most are withered with a tiny number holding on to life by the grace of their dalaran masters.

if we talk this way its very feasible that Silvermoon could send a clean up squad to annihilate them all.

however high elves have shown they do not like to attack eachother,
the Silver Convenant broke this rule in the purge of Dalaran

It was the Sunreaver traitor that broke the rule, while he gave the bomb to Garrosh. Many High elves died in theramore

Wrong. Only The lodge in Eastern plaguelands turned to withered and that’s for a Different reason. High elves still have a strong presence in the Alliance and blizzard even added more in Legion and BFA.

As I understand it the void elves are traitor Blood elves and former silver covernent elves. So hopefully they wont’ appear in the future as the void elves fill the role blizz asigned to the silver covenent elves.

The thing is over time the hostility between alliance high elves and Silvermoon has been faded out. Right now, they could easily go back and live in Silvermoon and do not participate in politics.

But Void elves have a way better arc to have a schism with blood elves and actually have justificataion to kill them. Imagine if BfA was prolonged and Alliance attacked Quel’thalas, I cannot imagine how any high elf would be able to justify paraticipating in that attack.

On the serious note my RP Void elf is from Suncrown village, so she did consider Quel’thelas to be her home. As any Thalassian elf would. But… her home is in the Ghostlands and mostly empty, so yeah. That’s interesting

I think shadow priests might have become a taboo in Silvermoon due to the schism with the void.
