The Silver Sanctum
The Silver Sanctum is a place where role-players on both Alliance and Horde can join together to share their knowledge with one another, mentor others or indeed take more of an apprentice role, if that is what they wish to have.
This is a place / community / project for both those in a guild and those who prefer to stay guildless as well.
The community is open to all classes and races with possible events organised by the Chancellor, Luminaries and Instructors.
Community info & possible events
The community will be split into 5 faculties, each faculty is led by a Luminary (see roles and faculties section below for more info). It is likely an event will be held at least once a month (perhaps more, depending on the Luminaries and Instructors in the differing faculties). Event nights may be organised for an individual faculty or faculties may join together for an event or two (or even in competition with one another).
Each Luminary and Instructor will host one event night each month. Event nights can include lectures, debates, discussions, sermons, combat training, in the case of magical users, practical’s on spell casting, or demon summoning etc. The location for each varies on who is hosting.
All members are encouraged to participate and if they wish, host a small event for their respective faculties or for the community as a whole. IC, we would ask if you could check if what you wished to do was acceptable to your Luminary, if they are not available, approach the Chancellor, if he is not available, contact an Instructor within the faculty. This can be done off screen in discord or indeed in game.
When and if you join the discord, you will be assigned first of all the initiate role. This is your probationary role until you have chosen and been accepted to join a faculty, this means you are welcome to join the discord but will not have full access until you have had the IC interview (invite to the discord group will be made available once Luminary roles have been filled).
You may request to join one faculty, be accepted but then be approached by another to join them, the choice ultimately would be yours.
Once you have been accepted and are in a faculty, you will then be assigned one of the roles below in discord. There is a channel for your chosen faculty that will only be able to be viewed by your own faculty members and Lead Luminary. These locked channels will be IC only.
Luminary Applications - Closing date 8th September 2023
To begin with, applications to become a Luminary will be tendered out.
The first step is with the completion of an application form (this is a mixture of OOC and IC questions). Once the closing date has passed and applicants shortlisted, IC interviews will be had. If you do not hear back after 7 days past the closing date, please consider your application unsuccessful.
Once all Luminaries have been appointed for their respective Faculties, applications for Instructors and students (Shades, Iniquitous, Ward, etc), will be open.
The application form is a google doc form, please ensure you are logged out of google on your browser before you fill this in (to remain anonymous). Section 1 is OOC details, complete this to move onto section 2, which is the IC application.

Roles and Faculties within Silver Sanctum
Chancellor – (Member name, Chancellor)
The honorary leader of the Silver Sanctum and the one who oversees the day to day running of the educational establishment. Can act in a ceremonial and ambassadorial capacity for the educational establishment.Chamber of Luminaries – (Member name - Luminary)
Each faculty is to be overseen by a Luminary (the faculty leader). Each Luminary has full control of their faculty and will oversee / review applications for students and Instructors for their respective faculty. The Instructor applications may be reviewed with the Chancellor at the request of the Luminary.Each faculty naturally lends itself to a certain classes, but as this is a community that itself is based on learning, each class / race is welcome to choose whichever faculty they believe would best suit their character. A member of one faculty could even move to another if they wish (and with the blessing of the respective faculty Luminary).
Instructor
This is a supplementary role to your choice of faculty below. You are assigned this role if you are willing to perform one or more of the following; lectures, sermons, training sessions, summoning’s or undertake excursions. Instructors may attend other sermons, training sessions and such that are organised by others if they wish to.Faculty of Shadow – (Member name - Shade)
This is the faculty where those who act in the shadows are found. Those who scout ahead unseen and act as the eyes and ears for the Sanctum. These individuals seek to be the best in their field in subterfuge and espionage. Readiness and willingness to be placed into the most dangerous situations as you have ‘on the job’ training as well as training sessions, practising new skills.Faculty of Order – (Member name - Erudite)
A place to learn, research or share your knowledge of the arcane arts with others. Only the most studious will be accepted into this faculty. Be prepared to demonstrate your prowess in the scholarly arts with tests, lectures and excursions.Faculty of Chaos – (Member name - Iniquitous)
The Eldritch arts are feared by many. Some have reason to fear their ancient and corruptive influence. Others seek to harness that power for their own needs. Those who wish to be a part of this faculty have been known to put their own needs before others. Others wish to fight fire with fire and so choose to study these sinister magics for the greater good.Faculty of Divinity – (Member name - Theistic)
The faculty of divinity is a place where those who dedicate themselves to a deity or greater power congregate. Discussions, debates, sermons, learning and pious crusades are on offer for those who wish to learn and be a part of this faculty.Faculty of Protection – (Member name - Ward)
The shield and soul of the Sanctum. The faculty of protection lives by its name. They defend the members of the Sanctum who may not be able to protect themselves. They train relentlessly to ensure that any foe they face will be vanquished. Honest, trustworthy and dependable, the Wards are the ones who stand firm against those who wish the Sanctum ill will. Those who wish to join this faculty will be expected to follow a regimented training programme and be prepared to be deployed where and when needed.
This is something personally, I have been looking for in game for a long time. A reason to have learning / cooperative kind of roleplay cross faction that is removed from the current in game organisations and so hopefully attracts all the races we can play in game (as there would be no IC grudges held against the organisation).
The expectation for frequency of events held by myself, the Luminaries and Instructors would only be held once per month, for each individual who holds that position and could involve any of the possible events mentioned above or something else entirely.
These would be advertised in discord primarily.
I’ll put this here again as there’s a lot to read above, applications for Luminaries are open before this is launched fully, once all Luminaries have been appointed (I hope) for their respective Faculties, applications for Instructors and students (Shades, Iniquitous, Ward, etc), will be open.
I’m hoping this project will compliment what various guilds themselves are doing and also provide somewhere for those who want to rp more casually as well.
