No, I use retail because it’s called retail. Check your install folder? It’s been called retail since forever. I call Legion Remix, Legion Remix, and Classic, Classic and Vanilla, Vanilla. The fact that you see it as an insult is not surprising given the embarrassing state of retail wow. But when it’s better I will still say retail wow, because it is called retail wow. Occasionally I throw in the expansion name for specific things, like “in Midnight they’re making huge changes” or “shadowlands broke retail wow”,. Retail wow is what is live now, you may call it live wow if you prefer.
I am VERY positive of Midnight, watch the forums when it’s live, I’ll still call it retail. Watch for a post about housing and how much I love it cause it’s coming. Title will be around “my love for retail is back” or “retail wow housing is awesome, perhaps best in class” some like that.
No I don’t. I never played Classic a lot, I did a bit for memories but past that, no I have better things to do than waste months on leveling a ugly looking game.. It has a lot going for it but a lot of old issues as well that I don’t wanna deal with.
I simply left, for about 8 years, checking in sometimes. Like most tbh, at first I used the forums a lot but at some point I didn’t care and just left, around SL prolly. The game died out quickly with SL and it never bounced back, but I believe midnight is a good starting point and the xpac after the last titan could restart wow, a wow2 if you like.
It really seems Blizzard understood that there are only so many mounts / transmog you can sell on the store to a shrinking playerbase and the 1% can no longer rule the game. That’s my take on their changes but whatever it is, I’m positive of it.

Ye you have to go low. There are a few on youtube that are proud that their accounts got perma banned and made a new one. You can find them easily as they have quite the following for 300k.
Personally, I think it’s sad and to be honest, removing the wow token won’t solve this one. Only REAL gms, ingame can, instead of whatever ai slob Blizzard uses now. Classic is full of bots for instance, no gm in sight.
My gear is not up to snuff now, and I have no desire to play retail as I’m having fun in Legion Remix there. Currently doing +30 to 40 but not to serious only 100% vers so, only casually as it’s easy and fun content. Going to time 40 somewhere idk, kinda done with the grind already, haven’t started to push beyond 35.
But for retail – come Midnight maybe I will, who knows. I don’t really think so. I’m way more into housing then a bi monthly gear treadmill but you do you. But if there are no addons, sure, why not. I was a BIG fan of M+ and tanked with no healer +10 ez. I’m sure a +17 will be a cake walk if I get into it.
Ive’ done +5 in TWW and i saw no point for the healer at all. A good tank and 4 DD is fine. I am delusional enough that I think I can tank a +10 without healer.
You can be boosted in remix, you should stop playing that also. Any version of WoW is like this now so it’s better to not play any of it. You can also check easily if someone HAS been boosted
Honestly, you might be correct there. My pov is from Legion. I never played it beyond that.
I see a lot of addons, not a default ui. try again. I did mythic with default ui, granted with pugs as I don’t like to commit to schedules, so as a result we never got far but that’s alright raiding is the most boring content god ever created imo. And that’s oke, not everything is for me.
Oke and now? Wow itself is not hard lol. This just tells me you have patience, which is a very valuable trait that imo can be of better use elsewhere in life but you do you. I do not posses that trait, i would be GONE before the first boss is down.
I am something between a slow boomer and a fast zoomer, but more of a fast zoomer. I need fast dopamine big pulls and big dps,. global cooldown and aoe cap removed the fun of m+ for me mostly. I don’t need 200 pulls and bored out of my mind because someone can’t understand his addon soup.
The most fun I had was in Legion or BFA pulling half the dungeon at +16 – some rot dungeon and then melting it down, no aoe cap, no global cooldown?, bfa I think. THAT was awesome.
i agree with him about the state of boosting, it’s awful. But you don’t stop playing the game as a result. They need more tools to allow people to see if it’s legit or not
do things like minimum item item level or rio and it filters them. They are always new characters.
It works especially well on retail using rio to filter them as they are new toons
I can’t be specific on what addon, as I don’t use them besides details. So I don’t recognize what addon. I just see it’s not the default ui and there’s stuff glowing and showing that I do not have.
Ye +16 is not hard. Not then and not now. Idk what you’re on about. I mean the hardest part is again patience, getting the right gear and finding the right people. Specifically tank if dps.
Ye that is just not true. I see a lot of people say that, but it’s copium. a +16 today is about the same as a +16 back then. Skill grew with whatever mechanics got added for those that stayed. You can easily know this, because back then most keys were 12-18 and today that’s same in LFG.
Ye someone told me, the +5 we did was like a +10 then but I just disagree, the +5 felt like a +5 lol. I did notice a difference with +2 of all things, that is significantly more difficult that 0. That was not the case as I remember.

A +5 should be as hard as a +15 and +10 should be as hard as a +20 in the current Mythic+ system etc.
