gaining skinning Skill points is not workign properly
you can skin for 2 hours and not gain a single point
compared to other gather professions skinning is by far the worst for gaining skill points

It’s the same for mining and herbalism. There is a some sort of a weekly cap when it comes to knowledge.
nah its not, i have minning and herb too and i have +40 ish skill points
my skinning is at 23 points
ive invested more time in skinning than herb or mining too
Yep i am almost 75 points into herb and my skinning which i farm equal or a bit more i am atm at 40 and it always was behind
because you can slay 50 beasts and skin them all. herbs are rarer and you have to look for them in the wild.
thats fine but the pacing is not correct in my opinion
slaying beasts 50 + packs at a time , you could do this for hours, ( like i have for the past 2 hours) and not get a single skill
my herb/mining takes me 1minute to find a node that gives a skill
why so the bots have an easier life, skinning is one of the easiest professions out there.
at the expense of players? jsut because they cant manage to ban bots?
you have it mixed up, i should not have to farm for 2 hours+ just to get 1 skill…
its that simple

Idk, i probably found 3 pollen in the entire week and i gather pretty much every time i see herbs
i think its an issue that needs to be addressed, there might be a weekly cap but skinning barely reaches the weekly cap
its way slower than herb or minning
This is about knowledge points, yes? I had my skill maxed out before I was even halfway through the second zone just from skinning stuff I killed which questing.
To get knowledge points from skinning, I think you need to move around a lot and skin a variety of things in lots of different areas, focusing on elites as much as possible. Staying in one area that has a high density of one particular source is good for farming mats but bad for getting knowledge points.
Are you sure you haven´t missed any sources for knowledge points?
Mine is at 61, which is lower than my LW but seeing how skinning has fewer trees to invest in, seems fine.
Well yeah i cannot say it is difficult to get point in Herbalism. I am like 100 knowledge spent.
I do not have skinning tho, but ye i have a friend with more or less same point as me on herb but only 40 on Skinning.
im curious here but where did u get soo many points? what area?
I did all one time and weekly profession quests, I did the Darkmoon fair quest, I bought the book for artisan´s mettle, I looted the one time treasures, and the rest came from skinning drops
so you got most of your knowledge points via quests…

Have you started at the same time? I got few knowledge on wednesday, that’s about it. So if you have one weekly reset less on skinning character, that might be the explanation?
It’s capped per week.
So that’s probably what you’re noticing.
It’s the same for all professions. BUT there is RNG involved, so maybe that’s off for skinning?
