Skinning should be adjusted like Herbalism and Mining.

In BFA there is no longer the option to put loot on "Free for all" I do not why this change was made. And in general it isn't as much of a problem. Except if you are a Skinner. Plus everyone can tag everyone's mobs but if you tag a Skinner's mob and you do not loot it. You screw the Skinner over. He/she cannot skin until everyone who tagged it takes their loot. So this isn't even just a group loot problem.

My suggestion is to change skinning so that after the skinner loots the corpse they can immediately skin it and the object stays visible to those that tagged it so that they can also loot/skin it if they wish.
Just like the herb stays visible after someone picks it. But since you can't put a timer on like with herbing or mining I would suggest that you can only skin those that you tagged.
It is incredibly frustrating to have to constantly ask everyone to loot.
wasn't it in the game not so long ago that you could skin a mob without looting and it just made a pile of leftovers that could still be looted?

apart of that i think what skinning really needs is some kind of aoe skinning option.

i wish we would have a shredder or something for that... oh wait
This issue also affect any mob that can be harvested by Herbalists, miners and engineers, and as you say it can be very frustrating with the new open tapping system, especially if you're actively trying to harvest the mobs.
I've seen players stop looting when they see someone else is harvesting these mobs.

I don't really know what the solution is other than make the corpse harvestable from the get go and if there's any loot then that gets left as a small chest for whoever the loot is assigned to.
Yup and give it a bit of XP as well.

Oh yes of course, I mean XP is so hard to get nowadays.

IMO adding xp for harvesting nodes wasn't needed and with the upcoming xp changes it's needed even less.
Why would you say say it is hard? Difficulty was never an issue with xp gains.
My mention had more to do with: bringing skinning up to par with mining and herbing.

If you still feel you get too much XP: go ahead and disable XP gain now and then. I do that when I want to be stuck at a certain lvl.
skinning should leave skinned corpses!
and trolls should have a passive to skin humanoids :D

You need to learn to recognize sarcasm.

If you want parity between skinning and mining/herbalism then miners and herbalists should be able to spawn their own nodes the same way skinners can make their own corpses. I know that some types of mobs can be harvested but they mostly harvest grey items with the occasional useful item.

Skinning already gives XP, when you kill the mob. If you skin mobs others have killed for you, that's all on you(actually, the benefit of this is that it's more efficient when you get lucky and encounter a already killed pile of corpses)
