Skiping dungeon bosses during leveling is pathetic

Make bosses grant massive experience gain compared to trashes. Right now new players are wondering what is wrong with this game, while everyone skip everything that is skipable…

Make invisible walls or something, its the only one game in the world in which people avoid bosses fights…

Its sad and depressing…

Would love if bosses gave more xp!

The completion bonus should be … well a bonus, not the main reason you’re there!

Yeah I feel so bad for new players that are forced to go through BFA.
I tanked a dungeon during the week and everyone started automatically run to the skip path while I was making my way to the first boss.
Took them a minute to realize I was actually gonna do the dungeon.

And yesterday a new player was trying to tank shrine of the storm but the mobs have mechanics that are not obvious for a new player so the others started raging and kicked him.

I don’t understand why I cant be a guide on my leveling alts when I am a guide on my main. People don’t realize a person in the group literally started playing this week and they are so quick to kick rather than ask or explain something.

It’s a terrible experience for new players.
Maybe new players should have a built in guide similar to deadly boss mod to actually explain all these new mechanics that are not covered in the starting zone.

Why is it sad and depressing?

Add more exp to bosses and people may do them but it has to feel worth doing.

Ahhh, but then people would cherrypick because they’d hit a boss after which they know there is no more loot for them and leave the instance. Which will suck when it’s the tank or healer.

Yes I know we’re talking about levelling and gear is irrelevant. We know people will do it anyway :upside_down_face:

(This can be fixed with the M+ strat for all dungeons; no loot until a chest after the last boss. Other bosses are a good whack of xp.)

It implies that people don’t find the boss engagement to be interesting enough to spend time doing it.

I understand. But is it that annoying for the people who don’t want to skip to make them sad and depressing?

I am just trying to understand the others. No offense.

Well yes. You wanted to do a boss. The group skipped it. No surprise if you’re not happy with this outcome, therefore it is sad and/or depressing.

But it also suggests that the state of the game™ isn’t great when a 1-minute encounter is skipped because it doesn’t offer a good time-to-value ratio. That is quite depressing.

Few months ago a friend of mine started playing WoW for first time. At first he was hyped, asking questions about the zones, dungeons, characters, but once we did few dungeons his hype died. Everybody rushing like maniacs, skiping bosses or raging at him. He got kicked few times too.
I get people are tired and want to hit level 60 as fast as possible, but it really sucks for new player.
Actually felt bad for bringing him in WoW.

I think it is a Freehold leveling dungeon case again. I understand it is good for new players to play content slowly to understand game concepts. But for an old player; especially a group of old players, who ran Freehold on M+ during BfA 1000 times, it is a torment that can’t take easily to engage some unending RP bosses like Council of Captains and Booty Ring.

I don’t how they expect people to run after a greasy pig for hours on a leveling dungeon but anyway if the majority of the group wants to kill all bosses, the minority will follow or leave.

Which is why running plaguefall while levelling is a miserable experience. At max level it has a whole other set of problems tho :joy:

I thought they had fixed that in PF were you need to do all bosses now ? I havent leveled for months as i reached 24 x 60s a few months ago and got bored.

100% agree, doing convoluted skips in order to get to the end boss faster is just degenerate gameplay
increase the other bosses’ exp by a lot so players are more willing to clear them

but honestly knowing blizzard they would just make the bosses mandatory while keeping the exp they drop at laughable levels

I do agree with this. Dungeon RP should happen as narrative during the fight, not be something you trigger then wait for something to start. It’s barely passable in M+ where groups would pull a pack for % while the RP happened, but as a levelling experience it’s just awful.

Although I am told that FF14 is stuffed with unskippable dungeon cutscenes, which is the other way to go with things. At least people know a) there is no skip, and b) they can alt tab if they’ve seen it too often. It just becomes part of the norm.

I honestly think it would make for a better experience especially for new players if they stopped the skipping. The existing player base just wants to get the most xp in the shortest time. Then others don’t know the skips/jumps/workarounds or that you simply bypass certain bosses to complete a dungeon.

It’s kind of ironic that Blizzard didn’t fix Plaguefall in SL due to skipping bosses and the arguments that caused in groups. They only fixed it when people were using it as a fast renown farm.

Why would anyone do BFA dungeons instead of classic ones to level…

shudder

Because new and returning players are funnelled into BfA.

Because i have been kicked out of the classic dungeons when i was a new player. I have never done those so i prefer dungeons i know.

I don’t know how it is on other places (US forums, other communities), but here most people who actually care about the dungeons and aren’t just in it for the bonus seem to agree that EXP should be offset to doing stuff in the dungeon.

A few different solutions have been proposed in the past but all pretty much agree that tying the majority of the experience to one single boss is ridiculous.
