Skipping the skip

My so-called main is now 79 and has completed the leveling quests.
I’ve been trying to get reliable information on how to level or not to level my alts, I don’t want to do that chain again.
However all info I find is either old or contradicting some other info. What is the situation now?

When it comes to leveling alts, my preferred method is to wait for a Timewalking event and then spam Timewalking dungeons from level 10 (the minimum level to queue) all the way to level 80. I’ve found this to be an incredibly efficient and enjoyable way to level.

That said, everyone has their own preferred strategies. Some players level exclusively through PvP—they reach the minimum level requirement for Battlegrounds and level up that way. I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve heard it can be a fun alternative for those who enjoy player-versus-player content.

Others use leveling guide addons that function like an on-rails experience, directing them step-by-step through optimized questing routes. This is great for avoiding repetition and streamlining the process, especially if you’ve already leveled multiple characters through the same zones.

But for pure speed and simplicity, I still think spamming Timewalking dungeons is one of the fastest and most consistent methods out there.

Agree and leveling alts through Timewalking also gives you badges as an added benefit, if you are a collector those are more than needed after all the recent additions to the timewalking vendors.

Timewalking dungeons with heirlooms. Beware the ilevel gap from 70-80 though, best to have some warbound gear lined up and do some easy WQs when you get to that.

If that’s not up, sometimes I just slow-mo level by doing WQs and Delves for a bit of the day.

No idea why the heirloom upgrade to max level was not introduced yet. It usually came after a year of new xpac or so. Either they have forgotten or they have forgotten intentionally, because some design change to the heirloom system is planned.

The general rule is you have to do the campaign fully at least once to gain access to the skips in TWW.

But if you’re not 80 yet so wont have full access to the campaign I presume.

Some sources claim my alts have to be 80 too to use the skips (which would be weird, to skip leveling at max level…), some claim it’s 70. Which one is it?

Edit: I mean skipping the intro quests and start doing wq’s, etc in TWW areas.

You need to be 80 as far as I’m aware. This is the Blizz support file:-

Can’t Use The War Within Level-Up Campaign Skip

Updated: 3 weeks ago

Article ID: 363908

Product:

World of Warcraft

Common Problems

  • I can’t find the option to skip the Level-Up Campaign
  • I did not get offered the option to use the skip despite finishing the campaign on a level 80 character

In order to use the Level-Up Campaign Skip, you must first reach level 80 on a character and complete the level-up campaign.

After doing so, your alts that reach level 80 will be given the quest “The War Within” on log in and can turn in that quest to be offered the option to skip.

If you choose the option to continue the campaign, you cannot go back and chose the option to Campaign Skip. Customer Service cannot assist by initiating the skip.

All i did was the Thrall/Jaina quest and used the skip there in Sitlhus teleported to Donogol set HS there and started doing WQ/Delves and stuff. But i usually just wait and do Timewalking.

Oh, completely misunderstood that!

Do main campaign
Get to 80

Alts go to Thrall in Silithus (use the free teleport) and say “I’ve heard this story before” which brings you straight to Dornagol.

When that character reaches level 80 you can talk to Brann and click “I want to join the reinforcements” or some such, for that alt to skip the main campaign.

there is no skip to “leveling”

on your alts once you’re 70 you pretty much get the option to skip the war within intro and get transported to dornogal
from there you choose which zone to go quest in to level up.
the campaign is still there, however you don’t have to do the whole thing in sequence.

at 80 new chapters of the campaign get unlocked
you also get the option to skip those if you complete them at least once on your account.
