What is wrong with long legs on dragons, they look ugly when they fly. In particular, models such as Reins of the Onyx Netherwing Drake and Azure Worldchiller. on regular flying looks normal…
Most skyriding animations for old mounts look horrible; a dragonfly/insect beating its wings like a regular bird - it looks so wrong. All mounts now have the same “soaring” look with absurdly wide stretched wings. Chimaeras no longer do the spontanous “twirl” midflight.
Skyriding certainly is a huge downgrade in regard to mount animation variation; and I’m afraid it will never get “fixed” because of lazyness.
It’s not laziness, its a lot of work and probably not on the list of priorities. You’d have to redo all the animations for them to fit the skyriding. And not only that possibly even redo the skinning(which I highly doubt will happen since that’s more work). The dragons we got in DF were specifically made for this sort of flying.
Exactly, instead of putting in that work it’s easier to throw plenty of mounts into the same basket of animations and call it a day; they will be happy with the lazy & fast solution instead of doing it properly, downgrading the quality of the game while masking it as an upgrade.
It’s sad, especially since those animations are all already there with steady flight. I’m almost considering to keep using that, but they will “soon” disable the option like old char models were eventually disabled as well to push the modernisation.
Meanwhile my fav mount Glacial Tidestorm looks amazing when using a surge. Feels like he’s (she?) pulling the wind to move faster. Same with mimi’s head.
Unique mount models got more love than generic drakes I feel.
