Skyreach shouldn't charge you forward if you are in melee range

As title suggest I don’t see why is Skyreach charging towards target if that target is already in melee range. It’s fine to be dashed to target if you are outside of it, but why force this charge if you are already there. Should work like warrior charge, you can’t charge at something that is right in front of you, you have to be at least melee range from it.

Especially since it’s trying to get you inside the center of the hitbox… This mechanic was removed from fury reckless abandon version of bloodthirst. I don’t understand why it stays in ww kit.

Exactly it should be to the edge of hitbox and not to the center and if you are already inside range no charge at all.

Skyreach charge is god damn terrible thing. Killed me many times already just because you simply can not do a thing about it as you HAVE to use tiger palm and sometimes the hitbox is soo tiny you fk yourself up. Please, Blizzard, just adjust the charge part of tiger palm the same way as is the warriors’ charge or remove it entirely.

After embarrassing myself over and over in m+ dungeons because of this charge i dropped monk completely. I tried without the talent, but dps drops like a sack sh.t.
I login once a week with my monk tho!

The ability charges you to far. You end up right up someone’s butt.

as a new monk its a really fun aspect of the class that I will terribly miss if they just remove it… I get your point guys but this needs to get some smart fix instead of just dealing with it the lazy way.

This small addition reminds me of D3 monk which was my favorite character from the game. I am glad is exists here…

Don’t get me wrong, this talent is amazing when it works. Not having to run between mobs, just dashing towards them is crazy good. But there are situations when this simply kills you because of how badly coded this is.
There are multiple mechanics that kill you if you “cross the line” or “stand in stuff” and with that dash working inside melee range and randomly teleporting you to mobs literally standing next to you.
For example.

  1. Valkyr boss in HoV - you get teleported outiside of the barrier and die
  2. Skovald - you get teleported outside of the shield during ragnarok and die ;D
  3. Shadowmoon - last boss - you get teleported into the purple stuff and die (after hotfix you die even quicker :d)
  4. Shadowmoon - 3rd boss - you sometimes teleport straight into inhale standing in the slow stuff
  5. Eranog (1st boss Vault) during the elemental intermission you clip the elementals line sometimes, but I have to admin that most of the time this one works fine.

Basically I could go on + all the situations where you cannot position your character properly because it teleports into the middle of the hitbox instead of standing at the edge, all whirlwinding mobs (like in brackenhide for example, do you know that you can stand outside of the WWing mob and dps? but as a WW you just dash into the middle of his hitbox and get dmg… )

BLizz PLEASE do something.
Dont take it away but fix the hit boxes, at least on bosses… I mean I dont mind the trash but m+ shouldnt punish you for picking a talent that is supposed to be top tier :smiley:

Yeah it is annoying, they really need to fix it, there’s no need to charge my Character when I can hit all my melee abilities already, it just puts you many times in a dangerous spot for no reason.

I don’t believe a talent this high up should be that negative in many situations…i much more prefer something similar to what rogue has ‘acrobatic strikes’ or they build a cool down that allows us to temporarily allows us to use all of our attacks at a longer range.

Please remove the charge or make it an option to be choosed > crit or charge.

i’ve endured up to 2.3k while using and and its just the worst ability ever. It should literally just increase monks range at all times. No charging.

Swithcing to rog main

Most if not nearly all of my deaths on bosses during raids and mythic+ are caused by a random dash into either a melee frontal on Primal Council, literally throwing me into the pit on Sennarth or getting dragged in to swirly explosions on the grounds during Dathea adds.

I genuinely do not want to talent into skyreach half of the time/

This dash is beyond infuriating, let me just toggle or decide if I want to randomly dash and zigzag across the boss arena because pathing is horrible.

On sennarath this is the stupidest thing ever sometimes massive charge right to edge sometimes no charge no telling whitch just roll the dice and see if you go off the edge, trully some insane design here from the devs.

Big true, theres moments when i can do melee abilities and be fine but if i want more chi by tigerpalmin ill end up dead

Hahahahha yes!!! I Even got dragged on the tip of one of those spikes, Where there there was only a Pixel to get back from… i ofcourse fell down
