yo why is it getting nerfed again? blade storm tallent getting 50% nerf and overpover 33% too? isnt arms mid as hell in m+ and only good in some raid fights where its single target/cleave? xd
Hero Talents
Colossus: Arterial Bleed causes Colossal Might to increase the damage dealt by Deep Wounds and Rend by 3% per stack (was 2%).
Colossus: No Stranger to Pain increases total damage ignored by Ignore Pain by 20% (was 15%).
Mountain Thane: Lightning Strikes damage increased by 25%.
Mountain Thane: Ground Current damage increased by 25%.
Mountain Thane: Thorim’s Might causes Lightning Strikes to generate 3 Rage (was 5).
Slayer: Culling Cyclone bonus Bladestorm damage reduced to 10% (was 20%).
Slayer: Opportunist now increases the damage and critical strike damage of your next Overpower or Raging Blow by 20% (was 30%).
I would believe the PvP theory if it wasn’t for the arms PvP buffs in the same note. What kills people is not the bladestorm, it is the unhinged MS that sharpens and the execute at the end. Bladestorm is basically the vehicle of unstoppable that allows for the pressure to be uninterrupted.
In PvP there are no issues, really. Arms comes out from this patch stronger.
Now we can argue PvE gets punished.
Defensive Stance now reduces damage taken by 15% in PvP combat (was 10%).
Arms
Execute damage increased by 15% in PvP combat.
Mortal Strike damage increased by 55% in PvP combat (was 35%).
Master and Commander now reduces the cooldown of Rallying Cry by 120 seconds (was 90 seconds) and increases its effect by an additional 10% (was 15%).
I think this is simply to take down Slayer a couple steps to push people into the other hero talents.
So it’s less about arms catching strays meant for fury but rather Slayer being the target all along.
These changes are completely out of touch and make no sense for both PvP and PvE.
I absolutely hate it when Bladestorm hits like a wet noodle it becomes so unsatisfying to press and is basically limited to being a CC soaker in PvP.
Bringing Slayer more in line with Colossus is also just bad, Demolish is simply too clunky.
It can be stopped or interrupted in so many random ways and when it lands well it can be super overtuned im talking one shotting people 70-0 etc.
Its just poorly designed and needs a little rework imo.
But if they really want to make Colossus work (which is fine by me i think its fun when it works), they shouldnt focus on nerfing Slayer to the levels of Colossus but buffing Colossus to the levels of Slayer.
Now, that would ofc. create another problem - the moment Colossus gets popular is the moment Demolish will get nerfed because the one shot potential is simply too big and i can straight up tell you the nerfs will be inevitable. So i’d propose nerfing Demolish damage and lower its CD, also the importance of Colossal Might’s stacks should be shifted a little into passive damage.
Speaking of PvP perspective mostly but i can see Demolish’s clunkiness being a problem in PvE too.
It is one already, activating it at the wrong moment and you are dead.
Colossus is a ramp-up spec, it can work in Pve although as a melee fighting with a lot of cone/puddles in M+ it is annoying to micro-manage your stacks.
In Pvp, everybody slam their burst whenever available. Colossus need to gather 10 stacks for an effective burst, it is a problem in the design itself. It is not designed to bode well if you can’t put pressure at the same pace than other classes. Cleave only add a stack when you hit 3 or more targets, meaning in arena you will mostly focus on MS and Exe procs.
Not mentioning that it will be for sure a noob killer, but will be useless against players that know what the 10 stacks means… Having an insta kill for low skill player put the class on target for constant complain without performing correctly at higher level.
How they increase the base damage of Bloodthirst and Rageing blows with 25% ( not affecting the Crushing blows and bloodbath buff from Reckless abandon.
Buffing the 2-4 set bonus.
And the buffs to Mountain thane
It seams they want us to move over to anger management, and the mountain thane
The increased use of bloodthirst and cd reduction on reckless and bladestorm is a compromise due to use being able to use it more times then currently.
That being said we are still not outpreforming several other classes in aoe or single target so to me the nerf is still just a slap in the face on one of our favorit abilitys that dose not overpreform in keys or raids, last key i had it was not even 7% of my overall damage, compared say to paladin and their divine storm that gose up to 17-20%
With the current changes incoming it seems that Fury will still be the play due to Arms getting hit hard by these changes, but Anger Management and Thane, which will reduce the burst damage but increase sustain.
They are trying to bury Slayer for sure. It’s a shame tho because Thane single target is still bad even after these buffs, so while our trash dps will be decent our boss damage will be trash, more trash than it is now.
I just dont get it, there are so many classes that outpreform warrior in aoe, overall and single atm, and by far larger numbers yet they are not even tuched on the changes, what do the class developers have against warriors.
I don’t want to think the WoW devs are as shallow as this, but if you look at the world first, Liquid built strategies around letting Warriors take care of the AOE so they could pump more single target on other classes, because Warrior CD’s lined up perfectly.
Blizzard watches the Queen world first, oh wow look at that a Fury Warrior is demolishing everyone on damage, better nerf it! Is that really what is going on here?
