Slicing Winds - please do something

Dear Blizzard,

I request the removal of Slicing Winds. Monk is already a challenging class compared to others, like Ret Paladin (123 puf puf). There are bosses and dungeons where players are afraid to use this skill, fearing they might fall off platforms (ToP) or during boss fights like in Rookery.

More than once, I’ve experienced a mini lag while casting, which resulted in my character being thrown off the platform. The hitbox also leaves much to be desired. Please don’t force useless skills into the game, taking away the fun for players.

Slicing Winds is a fantastic addition to our kit, a huge, near-instant aoe nuke. It has plenty of issues, and it’s really quite disheartening that there are so many technical issues with it, but removal is not a desirable solution imo.

  • Fix the spell going on cooldown when the empower is cancelled, that’s an insanely dumb punish.
  • Fix the bug where it can’t hit targets that aren’t on your z-layer.
  • Make the empower more consistent and stop having it fully charge on its own accord.
  • Move it from its current position in the tree, so it’s not locked behind SotWL.
  • Consider not making it replace FSK. Let’s be real, no one is using SW as a mobility tool.
  • Give it some kind of windwalker-specific flavor. Make it generate or consume energy or chi, and/or give it an interaction with another ww ability.
  • Make the empower actually do something, there’s barely any point to the empower mechanic as is.

But do not remove it. You did that with Darting Hurricane already, which is not a talent I miss, but it’s a lazy and wasteful cop-out. Just finish designing the ability before you give up on it.

We can’t be complaining about ww aoe performance and also advocate for removing the aoe nuke.

Also not a big fan of it as its not even comparable to the AE damage an moonkin or UH DK can do atm. The charge ability is more like meme as I just tap the ability. Don’t really get why ww got nerfed again when we need to put more effort into this spec in comparisson to a pew pew chicken
