Slow loading and UI /reload with SSD

Hello, i copied WoW from HDD to SSD. I thought that load times and UI reload will be much faster, but they are not much different. Loading times dont bother me that much, because i am not in combat. But sometimes my keybinds and cooldowns disappear and i need to reload UI as quick as possible. But reloading is between 15-25 seconds, which can lead to dying in raids, BGs or dungeons. I saw some youtubers and they reload ui in seconds, like in 2-5 seconds.

SSD is fully optimized with current drivers and firmware(Crucial MX500-1 TB). One thing i am not sure-i disabled indexing on drive, where WoW is installed. Can it be a problem? Benchmark speeds and latency are OK.

I dont know what i can do to fix it? What i can try is disabling all addons and then enabling it one by one. Or is there any command or something that can help me?

Sorry for bad english.

There seems to be a perpetuation of a myth that SSD’s are infinitely faster than Spinning Rust drives.

It’s true that they are faster, but they are not hugely noticeably faster than a modern Spinning Rust drive under normal usage. Sure they are significantly faster when being benchmarked, but in real world use, the difference isn’t really noticeable.

That said, there was a user on the old forums who discovered that the latest Windows 10 update was making a change to SSD configurations that really slowed them down a lot. The fix was also very simple, unfortunately, I can’t find the post.

Maybe you could try digging around over there yourself, you might have more luck than I.

??? How can you say the difference isn’t really noticable?
Do not compare sequential write and read speeds between the two. Compare access time.

The HDDs platter is spinning 7200 RPM, that is a limiting factor when it comes to accessing a single bit.

SSD has no moving parts. It takes the same amount of time to access bit A in memory chip X and bit B in memory chip Y.

I am aware of how they work, lol.

However their manner of operation doesn’t change the fact that unless you are making a lot of reads or writes, the data you’re accessing at any given time, is too small for the difference to be noticeable.

Literally the only time I notice any difference between an Samsung Evo 970 Pro SSD and a 7200RPM WD Black “Spinning Rust”, is during bootup, and even then its just a difference of 15 secs vs 45 secs from power on to desktop.

Depending on how many addons you use it will take longer for me it takes just a few seconds but I don’t tend to have many addons installed if you are one of the people that uses loads it will take longer.

Thank you. It’s true. i Have tried disabling all addon and /reload, without addons 1-2 seconds, with addons 7-15 seconds

There is an addon that can easily tell you whats the cause, if it’s your addons or not.

Search github For: phanx-wow/Warmup
(crap forums wont allow links…)

Don’t leave it enabled the whole time or it really will slow down shizzle, but to find out whats wrong? Works a treat.

That is complete rubbish. Loading times for Warcarft, not Windows in Boralis. Tested 5 minutes ago.

Sandisk SSD SDSSDP 128GP Load time: 38 seconds.
WD 5200 RPM wd5000aavs 500gb SATA Load time: 1m 19 seconds
Samsung 7200 RPM HD502HJ Load time: 1m 23 seconds
