Imagine discovering that SM is locked (Like Gnomeregan now) when next phase hits, as it’s a 50 raid(s).
Wouldnt that be a nice troll to all the people that are planning to dungeon grind? One can hope, mix the bag a bit!

I did not try myself, but I understand that part of SM is locked already.

If SM would be a 50lvl raid, theres literally nowhere to go between 25-40.
So it probably be usual SM.

Depends on if they go 4/4 SM dungeons or allow us into some of them. Saw a thread where somebody claimed Armory/Cath are unavailable (behind the doors).

In which case people would benefit more from RFK > RFD 25-40. But atleast “forcing” people to rethink a bit.

I play SoD specifically for the opportunity to revisit these dungeons one more time, as a resto druid and a prot pally.
Being forced to quest is unappealing. Both specialisations are numbingly slow outdoors.
I also don’t see how spamming RFD is different from spamming SM.
Ah, though that was what people had been doing the last 4 years on Classic and Classic ERA … But to each their own.
And nobody said anything about quest, just a different dungeon than SM which has been used as a leveling hub the last 20 years - by most people.
All of the guild preparations regarding BiS items in SM would require a tweak, big F xD.
However, there are other options to level up in dungeons at those level gaps, even if they are less efficient.
As a mage booster enjoyer, I would like to see a classic SM for obvious reasons, but in the other hand, I also see that boosting/farming will be a huge problem if SM remains untouched, so personaly, I don’t mind if it’s locked or not, it will be just fun to see the connotations for the community and the game rythm itself.
You can enter right now to SM GY and Lib, also you could enter Arm and Cath for about a week after launch but it was fixed, probably because of bots flyhacking farming Herod loot. So i doubt that it will be locked, because you can enter GY and Lib and some people already got loot from Arm and Cath when it was available. I think the only reason of locking Arm and Cath was because of bots, because if it was intended to be a raid, it would have been closed since launch day same as Gnomregan.
Yeh makes sense. Closing SM would be a huge blow to all classes considering the importance of cat/arm items.
Also SM is such a leveling staple in classic that many people would hate to see locked away
Make flyhacking detectable so only cheaters get punished? Hell naw, we are Blizzard. We punish regular players and only inconvenience bots/cheaters.
I mean Arms and Cath are locked… not sure if it because of bots and they will open again. Or it will remain locked because of SM raid… either way gonna be interesting.
Most BFD items are better than SM loot anyway. Im curious if they will change the itemization aswell
Can be Karazhan cryps at lvl 50.
if it was intended to be a raid - it would be closed since launch, because some people already got loot from it in week 1.
they were open before, you can see on Xaryu´s youtube channel. But it´s cause he and other streamers were raiding the dungeon already and getting the loot they closed it off.
and anyway, lvl50 has a lot of other better options for raid, mara/zf/ST/brd, so i dont think that it will be SM becuase it is not so big and was opened for some time.
