It is too difficult for pug, it feels like new Anduin Heroic. I am sure Smolderon will nerf soon?!
Killed him in a pug. Just kick lazy DDs that don’t want to play mechanics. If there are 5 orbs getting through during first intermission. Stop the try and replace failers. Make that clear from the start and you are fine

Finally we killed Smolderon, it was disaster! 
Imho he is over-tuned for heroic flex raids for sure, he needs a nerf by about 10% of his hp and damage, then it will be fairer.
To be clear I dont think the boss is that hard so to speak mechanically but his damage and hp is mildly overtuned for his difficulty.

Its not if everyone play the mechanics. Its one of the easier bosses tbh
