So about playing a Void elf as a High elf

I’m just being curious, is it generally acceptable by the AD community? Do people do it? If you have a High elf character how does it view the whole Void elf thing?

So far I’ve only seen it be done in Goldshire, most avoid it because they’re purpleish no matter what.

Generally it’ll probably receive mixed reactions.

You see it around but I find it way too jarring. I’d rather people used humans to play high elves. Though that’s not ideal either.

I’ve seen it and im ok with it. It’s not as jarring as say a void elf RPing as an ogre for example.

Pretty much this, although I only find it remotely believable in terms of aesthetics for female humans. A high elf using the male human model just looks daft, given the Mr. Universe character model that Blizzard gave them.

Get a hairstyle that covers the ears and boom, you have 90% of what an elf is, just standing in a different pose.

Well that got responses quickly :sweat_smile: I actually think Void elves have more interesting story than the High elves, being former Blood elves and Horde. I was just playing with the thought and curious what people thought about it. Maybe if Void elves got a High elf skin it could be fun to try out but honestly I think I’d go back to being an edgy elf. But I know some people really want playable High elves, so if this is the best they get, I wouldn’t deny them that.

Hello, I roleplay this character as a Silver Covenant dragonhawk rider.
I use the Orb of the Sin’dorei and hopefully, a friend or an alt account stealthed to use prism.
I’d love it if we got blizzard to change the Orb of the Sin’dorei or Reflecting Prism duration.

My character views void elves with sadness. So many void elves now that could instead by high elves.
But nay, corrupted against their will, they dabbled too far and destroyed what remained of the high elves.
Every void elf is a sad reminder of just how little remains.

…of Blizzard’s ability to write compelling stories and thorough lore, yes.
Honestly, I think people should RP what they want with the tools that make sense for them - if you do it well even they nay-sayers will usually cave. If not, who cares, they’ll go nay-say elsewhere.
That being said, void elves have horrible story, they don’t belong with the Alliance if at all (I vote latter) and they look like they should be on the shelves in some japanese sex shop inbetween the blow-up Princess Leias and tentacle utensils.

Do what you want, part of roleplaying is being creative with the character. If that means you’ve to use another mode human or void elf for a high elf, than so be it. What makes you happy and enjoy your game time.
