So, can a $68.7 billion company fix the bot problem?

or is it going to stay at 0.5mil active accounts, half of which are bots?

How do you know they are bots? If you got evidence report them, i sincirelly hope you will get banned for false reporting if they are not. Just because you see 4 druids, it doesnt mean they are bots.

I like bots since they lower the price from greedy players who would want the prices to be insane for their own greedyness.

Yeah, then let’s make WoW into Diablo Immortal 2…

You see, if the in-game economy was healthy, and it would be more than 537k players playing TWW, then bots would be diligently banned. Jeez, I do wonder why classic+ private servers attract more players…

It’s really an unsolvable problem…

Blizzard does not publish subscriptions. It is doubtful that there’s only half of a half million players left anyway. I’m quite sure there’s many bots and that the number is somewhat consistent due them getting dinged but then replaced near immediately.

Very hard, for example in another F2P game Valorant & League this is explained in more detail why it is so difficult:

The botting problem is prevalant in all games/MMO’s, not just WoW. If there was a solution there would be one by now.

An ex-dev that worked at Blizz:

You may suggest any methods you may think of through the ingame feedback box but it is not likely that it will be groundbreaking new suggestion.

They do not, but RIO provides a fairly good starting point…
There is sh*tloads of data being collected by addons…
Man, I’ve been playing this game since 2005.

I will raise you one more:

Can a 27 Trillion country (USA) and 19 Trillion federation (EU) stop Russian and Chinese bots ?

They haven’t managed so far… So good luck with those farmer bots in WoW…

If people don’t use their services, the bots will go away on their own.
But as long as people keep buying gold, boosting services or have this “need” to make everything an eSport competition, these bots will remain.

I don’t know, man… private servers, which are certainly not playing aroud with 70 billion USD can actively ban them… but whatever, let’s buy the £70 dinosaur!

And makes total sense. Hard working guy making 20 euro an hour.

Probably will find it worth to pay an Venezuelan 0.5dollar per hour to farm gold for him.

Few like to farm gold, me included.

We are creatures of convenience.

I know my car is slowly killing the planet, yet i start up my diesel engine everytime i need to go somewhere. I aint walking thats for sure.

And i think its fine, aslong as they are humans farming. Bots need to be hunted, but its a never ending battle of tit for tat. So a war that will never be won. But you cannot give up either.

I get my gold from tokens now. I aint messing around with 3rd party stuff when i dont have too. I used about 1 token worth of gold per month at the start of this expansion, gold consumption has decreased by alot as the alts are geared and professions are starting to make money (I started 3 weeks late this expansion, so been lagging behind)

It’s pretty easy to find an appropriate number looking on raider~m+ players and even delve-rp players.

As for Europe , yep the number are pretty low .
Number Of Raiding guilds are way lower than DF 1st season :white_check_mark:
Mythic+ players way lower than Df :white_check_mark:

Unless that you tell me that every wow player has started rp and sitting on Goldshire inn  doing nothing .

Friendlist from 9 active friends is down to 1- to max 3 same players=addicted one

Sunday morning 12:00 am 4 ppl( including me ) doing Theater troupe …(i would expect more especially from the rp players…we didn’t unlocked even the 1st chest

So yes talking about Europe the numbers are pretty low .

That’s why the token exists, and should be used.
To get gold and combat the bot farms from third parties.
Personal feelings aside, the tactics and approach with the token would be far more beneficial for Blizzard if people used this than incentivizing more bot farms.

Just to throw a spanner in this, bear in mind there are also players, like me, who are currently not doing either activity of delves, m+ nor raiding. I just simply log in to PvP a bit these days and then log out. 15 Years of the same old same old gets well…pretty old.

I tend to play more new adventure first person type games that end pretty much in a few weeks or even less. At least they not so repetitive or grindy.

Number of mythic players, make total sense. As its so punishing and such a terrible experience. Pretty much only masochists can enjoy that.

Me with my ADHD brain lost interest in mythic really fast, when i spent 4 hours and get no reward cause people leave etc. My ADHD brain needs some small rewards now and then to stay interested. Just being punished and abused does not keep me interested.

And less raiding, altso makes sense. Since progression is gatekept in the terrible mythic experience.

Some people log on, start the mini game of queue up for mythics. Only to spend 40 mins getting declined. Before they log off again.

I spent 1 hour running in circles in Dornogal yday, cause i have nothing to do. Cuz i refuse mythic pugs. I have 4 characters at ilvl 619-622.

Progress from there on is almost non existant, and i cannot get into raiding cause my gear is too bad.

Yea… I came back this expansion after being away for a long time.

Not the game i remember. Now its all statistics, punishment, gatekeep with a huge dash of toxicity cause people hate their gaming experience. Making everyone frustrated and on edge.

WoW players are becomming league of legends players. Players who hate the game, hate their life. But continue due to the sunken cost fallacy.

Not when bots make them a considerable amount of money

no mmo can solve the bot problem, no matter how much money they have.

Even if they can they wouldn’t.
Every bot = new acc = more money.

then you can join them if you think they are doing better job :woman_shrugging:

there are countrys in the world where farming gold is people monthly paycheck

now, wow has region wide auction house
blizz dont care untill you pay up for account
and i doubt there are bots most likely you just saw multi boxer

dont expect boting problem in MMOs change in your entire life time, sonny

Sure… a server with 10 people playing where 1 admin can personally spy 24/7 on each of the 10 players sure represents a valid case.

Use your brain a bit…

they do not want to end the bot issues tho because why would they?
-playerbase keeps playing the game and doesnt care about the bot issue
-they earn at least one month of sub from each account whether its bot or not
-players can’t farm enough gold for content so they buy tokens to cover up in-game costs.
it works out in their favor every way.
