Of all the projects the Devs could focus on, I’m putting ‘Dance Studio’ under a large and heavy rock…on a remote, uncharted, uninhabited island…in the middle of the Pacific Ocean…and NOT drawing a map, where ‘X’ marks the spot.

Can we have proper player housing instead, please???

Tbh, after the Garrison experiment, I suspect player housing is not high on the Dev priority list either.

Blizzard does seem very resistant to giving us player housing :frowning:

Hmmm, except if players spent as much time in private customisable lodgings, as they did in Garrisons, it creates a perception that the world is empty…given that highly succesful player housing would optically depopulate the general world, I kinda get why Blizzard are reluctant to give it a second attempt.
If the project is a ‘win’, it creates a larger problem.

i think the only way we ever will see a dance studio is if blizzard will make money of it while letting the players design the dances wich get put there. like steamworkshop stuff

I don’t think player housing means the world seems empty. They made a garrison which was as far from player housing as I could have wished. I had no home I could customise, there were no in game items I could add to my customised home etc.

You just need to make it a cosmetic space and not do other things there, then there is still the need to be out in the world. No AH, No bank etc etc

Tbh, my Garrison was pretty much what I wanted from player ‘housing’… I switched out some of the guards, picked one of the collectable music rolls and also collected some of the Achi statues… used the Bank building…and you could invite friends over…I loved it.

Imho, if the building was purely cosmetic, rather than practical, I strongly suspect the novelty value would wear off for most players, fairly quickly.

Yet other games have successful player housing systems. They have to be optional.

How many of them are monetised?

I don’t like the landgrab variety.

RIFT had a pretty decent system though the editing tools were a bit basic sometimes. That may have improved greatly since I last played it. Not touched it in years.

Eh, the discussion about Garrisons is long and complex, but I feel like it boils down to; they should never have been resource producers.

Order Halls could have been a better iteration, had we been allowed to in any way customise them. They had the bare minimum facilities, and yet I still tend to linger in mine because I like the aesthetic.

Back on topic, I’m up for dance studio

And while you are at it, give it only to alliance!

Not to worry, they will give Alliance a nice little cozy place and Horde… a hut, in the middle of nowhere.

Who would be the dance teacher on each faction if we got the dance studio? Sorry, WHEN we got the dance studio.

It would probably the CHAMPION!

You know, actually player housing is a chance to give Alliance a little boost. Back in WoD I mained Alliance because the Horde garrison was insufferable. I absolutely loved the Alliance garrison.
