So Ele in TWW is either only fire spells or only lightning spells?

What happened? Why this? What happened to being a master of the elements?

That I really, really hope it dies.

Because you cant be a master of everything. In reality what ends up happening is the typical : “Jack of all trades, master of none”.

So better to divorce fire and lightning. IMO.

Oh well… Well atleast I can write one potential main off the chart

But why? If you keep all 4 elements (fire, water, earth, wind) you end up with 8 buttons to press all at the same time.

Which creates a nightmare of a rotation.

And to justify actually pressing the buttons, you have to add modifiers. Like Icefury and Frost Shock.

In the end, it turns into something impossible to balance. And that is where Elemental sits right now.

Master of nothing at all. Not a master of uncaped AoE. Not a master of Prio Damage AoE, or ST. And we got a spell for every one of those cases.

So better to accept the reality. If you pick talents for Prio Damage AoE for example, then you have to accept not pressing Earthquake or Lava Burst in the whole dungeon. Just spam Chain Lightning with Lightning Rod.

If you pick ST talents, you have to accept not pressing anything else other than Elemental Blast, Lava Burst, and Lightning Bolt.

But if you are forced to press everything at once (because of modifiers), ONLY to respect the “master of ALL elements”… you end up where we are now…

Think about it.

Everything worked fine before Dragonflight? I used Lava burst as main ability, dumped into earth shock, used lightning bolt as filler. In aoe I spammed CL and used EQ

Thats exactly it. You had buttons that were independent from eachother. For example, you casted ZERO lava burst in AoE situations. You had the button, but did not use it.

That is not “master of the elements”.

Not with talents like : Electrified Shocks, Elemental Equilibrium, Surge of Power, Lava Resurgence, Lightning Rod, Primordial Surge, Echoes of the Great Sundering… Things like that…

So IMO, you can have modifiers. But they have to be grounded in the basic rotation you described. And talents should just be a way to specialize further on some aspect of ST or AoE.

So if you talent to specialize in AoE, you will practically only use lightning spells and an enhanced version of Earthquake. And for the rare ST occasions, you use Lightning Bolt and Earth Shock. Which you have baseline.

If you want to talent for ST, then you use Lava Burst and an enhanced version of Earth Shock. And for the rare AoE you use CL and baseline Earthquake.

But not by any means turn ST spells into AoE spells and add a million modifiers such that you have to use every single spell in all situations… which is what we have today…
