So existing customers get nothing?

What is gatekeeping about my proposal to give everyone a boost? Lol?

All I see is someone crying.

If you point out unfairness in marketing, you’d think that people would just go “eh, maybe it would be cool if everyone was given a boost”, but instead they go out of their way to defend BRAND and waste energy on targetting said person.

Really strange vibes going on in here.

Well, the people who already own and have been playing Shadowlands generally don’t need a level boost… because they’ve been playing the game.

This is nothing more than “hey, there’s only a few months left of this failure, come and see it for free if you want, before it’s irrelevant”.

OP: i think your point would have been made far clearer faster if you had written you dont understand why a boost (from the heroic version) is being given free along side a standard version of SL.

And sure yeah, as it involves nothing from heroic. This is a standard version + boost handed out for free, so i guess i can see why your unhappy to why only returning players get a free boost.

Lol I thought that was clear but thank you for speaking out. I shall put your post in the OP because a lot of people’s reaction were bitter

It is not about paying bills. And it is not about the free boost per say.
It is about recognizing the people who stood with the game for all those years, and were part of the community, and directly or indirectly helped it grow in a way.
It is like having your friends, and a new friend joining.
And your friends were with you for 18 years, through good and bad, but you now have your new friend, and decide to respect him more, and pay no homage to your old friends because “you already have their allegiance”.

Maybe I grew up in too old-school type of society, but I was thought to always pay attention and tribute to those who stuck with me over the ages through good and bad.

So the general feeling of “leaving out all those who were with us, because we’ve already got them” is what this post comes against.

No it doesn’t, it’s just Asjon doing what he does best, scouring the interweb for stories about Blizzard, getting his knickers in a bunch about it and jumping on the forums to whine about the big bad evil Blizzard and his obligatory “Bobby Kotick and his yacht” meme which Asjon still thinks is funny but sadly stopped being funny 5 minutes of it slithering onto the interweb.

But by all means, carry on believing Asjon has a point.

You’ve not been here long obviously.

I agree with you that it doesn’t make sence. People should have gotten the boost only if they subscribed. But giving it just like that? I find that not to be right.

Why do you seem so triggered at my proposal to give everyone a biost?

Don’t care.

Still have my unused SL boost anyway…

No
I havent even bought any expansion and im not entitled to free SL

Correct, they trying to win new and old players back. If I am understanding this , the error comes in with the Free Boost. If you going to give away the old expansion with the new purchase and include the boost, then go to your database and see all customers that bought the standard edition and let them know they get a free boost too. If said customer bought the new version of DF with a boost - then too bad you lose out if not then gift it to them too. That’s better marketing and client satisfaction and retention.

It honestly does not surprise me they are doing this - has anyone else noticed there has been no PR around how many copies of DF have sold already?
