So... how do we locate the people to recraft our gear?

So… I am at that awkward possition
I have a quality-3 Signet of Titanic insight and I wish to add a primal infusion to it along with an Alchemical flavor pocket (the thing that costs over 100k gold now)

Of course I am going to want it to become Q5 if I am going to use an ingredient that costs a 6 digit number.

But… how the heck do I find who among the jewelcrafters who are up to the task?
We are expected by the recraft interface to either list it for the guild or for a specific character.
But in real life a professional artisan would either be having a store or some other way to let clients find them. There is nothing like that in the game as far as I am aware.

Are we supposed to keep looking in trade chat or is there some player-made list/community for players and artisans to find each other?

Trade chat or guild. Only way. Just looking at it in week 5 there are alot T5 crafters

Yes
Or trust your guildies
Better than trusting strangers

With recrafting, there is no issue of trust. You specify a quality and they either can do it or cannot do the order.
I will wait until night when the others are online and see.

it’s a flawed system. They won’t allow us to set a minimum quality for public orders probably to prevent people from always demanding the highest quality. That’s my only guess as to why they introduced it in this way. There is no reason, however, to go for lower quality so instead you’re now forced to look in trade chat. I had to look for a smith specialized in daggers all day long which is a complete waste of time and now I always have to wait for that single blacksmith to come back online and hope he never quits because he might be the only blacksmith speciliazed in daggers in the entire realm pool (as that part of the tree is less popular).

They should either allow us to set a minimum quality for public orders or give us a better way to look for crafters.

Search the /2 chat.
Also, if you use the Flavor Pocket it’s stuck on your item.
To recraft it in higher qualities you DO NOT need another Flavor Pocket!

Ofcourse…
Blacksmith’s often are Plate classes, we all know they can’t use daggers themselfs
Should’ve created a sword, 1h swords are used for Monks, DKs, Rogue’s, Paladins and even Fury warriors these days.

Did you try a t5 high gear piece. Without the +30 skill consumable its not possible, so you have to rely on inspiration. Do you know what happens if people set minimum T5? You are not even allowed to try for the procc… This means you are setting an impossible task. And I am not sacrificing 50 mettles for a 500g public order. The system is build to communicate with teh crafter on such things… Communication. You know, that thing that should be normal in a MMORPG but got trivilized by auction house and grp search function… Use that damn /2

Can’t set a “Garuanteed quality” on a quality that is never garuanteed.
Sounds prety logic too me

Have you ever played on a low pop realm / realm pool? It is not fun wasting your time in your main city (since we can not even access that channel from outside the main city) looking for a crafter that might not even exist. Communication being required is fine - and I did communicate with that one blacksmith I finally found, but there is no reason to make us waste our time for no reason.

I am completely aware you can not set the minimum quality for an item that requires a proc, but again, there would have been better ways to introduce this. They could just let us set a minimum percentage of inspiration proc chance for the blacksmith for a desired quality.

This also applies to the crafters themselves. They can only ever advertise their crafts while staying in the main city. Which also means they can not farm on the side and might actually lose money if they won’t get enough customers while basically afking.

This could be a good solution

I normally pop my advertisment 10 min while doing some house work. Then a last time and go for farming spots. People will still be able to whisper

This is VERY important information that solves my main concern. Thanks

I see, this means that one should try to find and discuss with a crafter first.
But so far my attempts on. /2 made me appreciate the chirping of crickets.

There has to be a better way for players to find each other than a semi abandoned legacy chat.

What about a dating side style app, swipe left/right style for searching the artisans? “Lonely scriber wants to share his quill”

At least you did not suggested a crafter Patreon

Seemed to work fine for me.

I guess all my luck went in the guild vault.
In any case I managed to find someone in my own guild who could to it at Q3 and I am happy enough

I use a discord to find skilled crafters on my realm. I’m sure there are more discords or places to find crafters. Otherwise it’s just trade, guildies who have the ability or word of mouth.

I am a bit unclear about how one finds crafters within discord.
I know it as a place where people host text and voice servers then then post invites for.

For example I’m based on Draenor and I use

You would have to find the equivalent for your realm.
