The covenants need to be rebalanced. I wanted to try Venthyr because I assumed it would be strongest covenant for AoE but the ability is way too undertuned and does literally zero dmg.
Door of shadows having a cast time is also garbage for warlocks who need instantenous mobility. Venthyr currently sims 800 dps less than the best single target setup which is insane.
So I just joined the fairy club like the rest of the warlocks. Wanted to play venthyr because I was looking forward for some nutty AoE dps due to impending catastrophe design and the Nadia 25% interrupt duration reduction for PvP but the covenant is underperforming too much.
Good system blizzard, much applause.
Yeah, a few weeks ago Blizz nerfed Venthyr ability with 80% (60% the dot part), then they gave back 15% just before the release. The Venthyr potency is a joke as well.
I am not sure what they were thinking, but someone there either a, very incompetent or b, done this on purpose (maybe they did not want 90% of warlocks go Venthyr, since it is far the best fit from aestetic point of view).
Yes, probably they will fix this (they have to), but I really wonder what was their thought process, because we agree 20% is a pretty big nerf, but 80? This is like saying, ah okey let’s totally destroy this ability (at least the damage part of it). Did they want to make it an utility spell? or I dont understand…
Can’t even contemplate how I tried to run Venthyr. The Night Fae is absolutely amazing for warlocks in both PvE and PvP.
Soul Rot does insane priority damage and pretty much doubles the damage of Impending Catastrophe in single target.
Even the soulbinds are way stronger for Night Fae.
Night Fae simply is the best soulbind for warlocks for all speccs in all aspects of the game right now. They get double dps conduit in week 5 instead of week 9. They get access to the reversed execute soulbind which is insane for both PvE and PvP et.c. If you’re not playing Night Fae you’re literally hamstringing yourself.
