Yeah, the problem is that Blizzard doesn’t really see it this way in other cases. They weren’t shy about firing people, breaking contractcs, banning competitors etc. for saying things they as a company didn’t like / agree with. So the fact that there wasn’t even a slap on the wrist (making Valentine delete this, apologise, etc.) indicates that Blizzard does in fact agree with this sentiment.
And make no mistake, this isn’t even a “cancel culture” issue where they express some unrelated controversial political opinion. This is about the game itself, about their customers.
I work in IT, and if I ever used my public social media to make fun of or bash any of our clients, I could almost definitely kiss goodbye to my job, and for good reason.
Aesthetically yes it was better, but thats it. Gameplay and endgame wise was the same. People dont think shadowlandsnis bad because of the story and aesthetics.
I would lose my job too but nobody would presume I was making a statement on behalf of the company either.
Like I said, their attitude stinks. I don’t think there is anything wrong with people complaining about that. I just think it’s bizarre to try to present this as the company’s view.
What do you expect from compulsive Twitter users who believe their various quirks are FoS achievements?
(nothing against people who happen to have these or other traits btw)
I wonder how many of those Twitter users understand that what they write is generally a public statement and not a chat with their friends on a private space.
The Incubus himself is fine, I would had even liked to be able to name demons for extra jokes
I read this person’s twitter, is it a developer? That explains a lot. The goal of this person is probably to annoy us so that we feel bad just like this person. Sometimes I feel bad about some things in wow, so that person probably does his job well. If this person is doing lore, he is doing his job really well, I feel really bad about lore, especially because of Sylvanas, Pelagos and Arthas. But I’d rather it made the game more fun. Or the game could be made by someone who does not want to insult and knock down the players.
Lol this dude… Can’t imagine any gay people genuinly felt ‘‘Uncomterble’’ With the Sucubus model. His just trying to fight fire with fire. Very wrong approach. Twitter dev I mean. Not OP
God only knows what his motivation is for making video games is. He genuinely seems to be happy spreading misery around. This I think is the best piece of evidence I’ve ever seen of it being possible to do a good thing for the wrong reason.
I think he’s inventing that misery though - I haven’t found anyone uncomfortable with the incubus. I mean it’s not like the game lacked bare-chested hunky male characters with a loincloth that only barely covered their jewels in the first place, so it’s nothing new.
People like this guy are insufferable. They’re the reason I left Twitter. They manufacture fake hate to each other and use it to wind one another up to the point where the whole thing explodes in a cacophony of abuse. Dude should get off Twitter and sort out his priorities.
Off topic but after my first M+ runs with the new Encrypted bs it was clear to me that this wasn’t added to bring joy and fun for us players but to annoy us. I haven’t met a single person yet who likes that mechanic and/or prefers it over the previous mechanics.
Off-topic but we migth have exhausted the topic anyway (?). Personally, it’s not as bad as Prideful because it’s less punishing if you deviate even a single bit from the planned route. I also prefer it to whatever that weird demon portal thing was with the Legion timewalking M+.
